I coudn't find VP anywhere. Here's some ones that are close:

WP- '69 350 4bbl, th trans, 255 hp, K-10 to 25 (truck)
WP- '68 307 2 bbl, 200hp, C-20-35 (truck)
VR- '69 350 4 bbl, m/t, 3 spd, 255 hp, C-20-30 (truck)
VB- '69 350 4 bbl, m/t, 255 hp, C-10-20 (truck)
UP- '69 307 2 bbl, m/t, 200 hp, K-20-25 (truck)

Also, the "M" at the beginning represents GM of Mexico.

Here's a link for all these codes, if you don't already have it:

I believe the Suffix in question is '9VP' which if block casting # 10066036 is a GM Targetmaster/Goodwrench crate engine, Mexican built w/ 2-Pc. rear seal and available in both 2 or 4 Bolt mains..
What style pad are the #'s stamped on?.
