Those of us that live in the GTA put up with a lot of hassles but one thing we are blessed with is a very large number of active collector car enthusiasts.  Last Wed. 65Camino and I went to the Applewood Cruise in Mississauga.  Well just 35 km down the Queen Elizabeth Way there is the Mapleview Cruise, and notwithstanding the fact it takes place on the same night of the week, it attracts another 3-400 completely different cars each week.  Check out this beautiful 65 SD, original paint, original interior car.  Owned by a gentleman named Larry who knows Invader Wagon, he told me he has owned the car since it was a year old and was his daily driver for the first 15 years.  The engine is the 300 horse 327 and has never been out of the car.  He admits the woodgrain on the dash and the air cleaner are not stock but those are about the only things that aren't.

Thanks Hillar, I suppose if I had been in town I would have seen those first hand with you guys. The two "non"stock items on that Beaumont look really nice! That 57 Sedan Delivery looks real nasty.

Actually Darryl didn't make it last night.  He said he got as far as the CNE grounds and then turned back because of the traffic.

Next week is the last Mapleview of the season.  You guys should really try and make it out.

Do you recommend leaving  the old rides at home, after all by the time I could get there it would be near 7:30, I am sure there would be nowhere to park.

Yeah, the only way to do it is leave directly from work and with the prospect of fighting QEW rush hour traffic, you want all the creature comforts of a modern ride.  I be on the Gardiner by 5:30 at the absolute latest.

The lot for the collector cars is usually full by 5:00 pm.  Next year we will have to take an afternoon off work and head down there with the old rides well before the rush hour traffic starts.

That 62 Cadillac Convertible would make me feel like "Mad Men", nice combo tuxedo and parchment. Is that a Hamilton Motor Products dealer plate? It hasn't strayed too far in 47 years.

Anybody dress up like Dr. Emmett L. Brown Phd. ? I never knew they sold that many Deloreans!

I believe 1973, of all years, was the only year you could order a Chevelle wagon with SS trim.  Can anyone refute or confirm this?

I think you are right, possibly 74 as well.  Would it have come with the Laguna style front end?

So he has another set of radial tires and rims he probably uses for longer journeys.

Heck, that's no crime, it it was, C2 would be in jail with all those tire/wheel combos he has for the Chief!biggrin
