Look what we saw today.

Earl and I were out toolin around looking for old cars and we came across this just outside of Ingersoll:

Yep, a 60 Strato Chief Wagon! Original paint, BC dealer nameplate on the back. Covered in bird crap. There was no one home and there was a for sale sign on the back seat. We called the number but it wasn't in service. License plates aren't very old- likely plated about a year and a half ago) I will be following up on this one!

Looked like a 6 cyl. Auto trans.

I managed to find a few square CM's of driveway not covered in bird crap to get down and look underneath. It's looks very good under there. No flakey rust that I could see.

Thats a lot of car for a 261 with a suffering PowerGlide behind it.
I'm assuming it's a L6 as it didn't have the V8 emblems on the front fenders, and it's a StratoChief. It needs a 348 3speed column with overdrive.

I've been busy at work to check it out. I might take a drive tonight and see if the owner is home.

I stopped by tonight. A young fellow name Darryl owns the car and it's not for sale. It has been in the family since new and he is the latest guardian. He has all the paperwork since day one. The only repairs have been to the floors which he plans to redo properly. He is a body man by trade and he plans to restore the car to stock- 6 banger and all. He says the car runs and drives great. I gave him a window decal and he is going to try to get onto the site. He needs a few odds and ends including better mirrors. If a car like this isn't for sale the next best thing is it's in good hands.

Excellent. It will be neat to hear about a survivor that is almost 50.  Oh, come to think of it, I'm a survivor and I'm just past 50.......
