So after a couple of weeks of a squeeky u-joint in my pick up i decided to replace the U-joints after pulling the drive shaft out i noticed the rear joint had been replaced but the front one was still the original - fiberglass retainer still intact @170,000km the front joint was the culprit - pretty much dust inside the caps
who does not change both u-joints - there like $15.00 each & you gotta take the shaft out to do the rear one anyway
i see more & more haf assed jobs done to vehicles everyday - like one rotor replaced - i've even seen only one pad replaced & the come in sets!
do it right or dont do it at all -- this mechanics words to live by

Sometimes at our dealership we take a little flack for doing a little bit extra but that's nothing compared to the flack we take when we DON'T do the little bit extra and it comes back a couple of weeks later, for the other U joints, let's say for example.......
