what colour should the firewall and underbody be on a 68 SD?

my 2 cents,, Canadian cars are body color, GTO's and the like where 60% gloss black.

I 'beleive' body color is correct.

maybe I'll get educated ,,,let the expert 's chime in.

The last three body tags I took pictures of on SD cars were a 66 and 67 then also a 69 Custom. The firewalls were all black.  Original? I don't know.

Having said that the firewall on the cherry 66 Laurentian I shot was body colour.

I forget about 68. Either 68 or 69 was transition year to black. 67 or older certainly is body colour though for firewall at least.

'68 was the Last year for Body Colour Pontiacs,But over the yrs looking at Lots of original cars in wrecking yards,I have also seen '68 Beaumonts with black,it might have been a through the year change over thing?

That 68 SS 427 had a black cowl and firewall.

So what is the consensus Beaumont experts, should the firewall on a 68 be black then?
