65 Beaumont 2dr wagon ?

Picked up a 65 Chevelle 2dr wagon  65-13215 v8 car from the south. It has no front clip so I was thinking Beaumont front end. I like to do my cars original but this ones going to get the L78 on the engine stand. ( Z16 look )

Kevin, what are the particulars on your L78? ( Casting #, casting date, stamping on the front of the block.  I'm looking for a JD block.)

you need a 69 272 casting. I have two 854 castings 4 bolt mains. One

is dated october 69 with original CKO stamp and the other is a september 69 warranty CE stamped block that would be perfect for a 69 warranty replacement block. Let me know the build date of your car and I will keep a watch out for a block for you. Your motor uses the 840 heads that are easyer to find then the 70 291`s

Thanks for the info Kevin.
The order date for my Chevelle was March 24, 1969. I've got a 272 engine in the car now, T0205JH, for Camaro or Nova.
I'm also looking for a 4 bolt 427 block for my Biscayne. It's a fairly early car, 2nd week of October I think. I need a 270 block for it, LD or MD code. ( Yeah, I know I'm dreaming)
Also some 840 heads. I think I can pick up a pair of 291's close by if you know of anyone who's looking for some.

I'm still trying to complete a Beaumont front end on my 1964 2-door wagon.  I still need a few pieces though:

lower grill surround and valance which goes between grill and bumper.
Outer chrome piece for driv. side headlight area (have pass. side - just not on)
Also need headlight buckets for both sides.

Living down here in the States limits the places I can find them (Ebay and such).
Anybody got these pieces they are willing to sell ? Only need to be "driver" quality.

Not in any great hurry, as I'm in the middle of a "frame-off" on my Caprice.

Also would like to say that this is a great site.  I don't own a Canadian Pontiac (or even a Amer. Pontiac for that matter), but always liked them. Also like the fact that a lot of you appreciate the post-models. The favorite car of all the ones I've owned was my 1969 Biscayne 2-door post. Never should have sold it.

Here is a current pic of my wagon:

Yeah, not too many people around here know what a Beaumont or Acadian is.  Love to watch them walk around it with a perplexed look on their face.  Of course it only adds to the confusion having Nova hood louvers on it and a Corvette independent rear.

Overheard one "know-it-all" at a show telling his buddy it was an AMC Matador! I didn't bother correcting him, just pretended I was another observer.

A lot of people have never even heard of a Chevelle 2-door wagon, although they have become more popular recently.  I've owned mine for just shy of 15 years now. Unfortunately I haven't driven it much recently, except around the neighborhood, as the clutch is really shot. Too many projects, not enough time....

Even so, I manage to get something done on it every year, even if it is only something small and easy.

Frank

I love the 2 Dr. Wagons and think the Beaumont trim looks great!.

Being a long time 2-Dr. Wagon owner do you know anything on factory units being provided as panel versions for the US Postal service and/or others too?.
Years ago a reputable US guy mentioned these and I've never forgotten..
Yes I'm talking about the 64/65 A-Body 2 Dr. Wagons specifically..

Never heard of a factory sedan delivery for 64/65.  I think 1960 was the last year they made a panel wagon until the Vega in the 70's.

I have seen pictures of a couple conversions though.
