66 beaumont SD convertable 396 4spd.

After reading the thread on the 67 sd convertables (396 4 spd) and how rare it is , I was wondering if anyone knows of any 66 sd convertables (396 4spd.) I assume that the 66 would be extremly rare, and I have heard of someone who supposedly has one that he bought new (1 owner)

I've always kept one eye open for 66 SD convertable's as I've owned mine for the past 28 years.  Most of those that I've seen though are 283's.  (Mine is the 275hp 327 two speed power glide.  Very happy with the 327 but I often wish it was a standard...)

Just went back and read the thread again and sorry, I misread it as it was the one on ebay, which apparently is an automatic.Must have had the thread with the hardtop on kijiji on my mind.

theres suppose to be a 66 BB SD rag in B.C. original owner-I assume the same car your speaking of.

someone quoted 50 or 60 66 SD convertibles-that would include all engines, there should be paperwork for how many L34 hardtops here someplace

yes, mine is one of 565 beaumont custom convertibles, I know of a small block SD rag-one of 68.-I'm thinking its 3316 hardtops ??? around 240 with the L34 ? ( a little less than 10%)

I also know of two guys that would like to purchase a 66 SD 396 rag preferably 4-speed so if they do surface they will be quickly out of circulation !

You are right, I have talked to the owner, and it is in B C . I am not able to say more as he gave me the info  confidentially.

Crazy enough when I was dropping my lads off at the Peterboro' Memorial Ctr. for the Petes game last week what blew by me going the opposite way but a driver quality '66 Beaumont Ragtop w/ SD trim!.
No luck getting the plate # and by the time I got spun around he'd disappeared..

I never seem to have any luck catching cars in traffic..
There's a '69 Beaumont Post car I've been chasing for years and he appeared again in August this year but of course I was running late going to the Toronto Airport and I had no choice but to let him get away...again!.

no

I'd forgotten about the one w/ the blower..
Don't think I've seen it for years now?.

Did you ever see the '67 SD Ragtop w/ the wheel flares here in Ptbo?.
Last I saw it was the mid 80's I think?.
I've asked about it for years and got zero response but found out just a couple weeks ago that it's probably Helmet's highly optioned L34 car!.

I hope I run across the '66 Ragtop again...and the '69 Post!.

I know of one 1966 big block convertible that was owned by a co worker of mine in the mid 1990's. I remember seeing it in his shop, there was a Muncie sitting in the back seat, I assume it was a four speed car but am not one hundred percent. I did see the GM Documentation and the two things I do remember were 360 HP 396 and the original selling dealership was in Grand Forks B.C. The engine was not with the car. I also believe that it was Aztec Bronze, at least it was a similar color at the time. I know the person he purchased it from owned it for some time and didn't get time to restore it. My co worker was collecting pieces to restore it but sold it several years later.....Haven't seen it surface yet......It was a solid complete car, I was impressed with the option list even though I can't remember the details now.

Talked to my old co worker last week and he confirmed my comments above, Aztec bronze with a bronze interior(I'd never believe bronze interior unless it was in the interior code manual)...car is now in the lower mainland, black with a white interior, small block in it, would be nice to see the cowl tag. Anyone out there seen this car at a show?

I think I met you on old lake Cowichan Road in Duncan, ( you were visiting a friend?) If that wasn't your car there is a 66 Sd rag 4 spd in Duncan. Not sure if it is original.
