In case you missed this '67 SD396 story

Sure, there are a few mistakes in the article (e.g. SD = Super Deluxe), but what do you expect from an American site? wink

Very nice car owned by Mark Bortolotto of Hamilton. Here's his page on C.C.C.B. - http://cdnclassics.chevelles.net/feature/bortolotto.html

Maybe he's a member here?

That one was my old car too ! I bought it from the original owner- Ian Smith in Port Colborne-it sat in a garage from 1981 to 1995-I sold it to John Landuyt-then found him a buyer a couple years later in Toronto who painted it yellow (restored it)-he sold it to Legendary-then Mark got it-I came across it by chance at Mapleview and filled in Mark with its history-the car was sold new at Janzen Hambrock motors Port Colborne, Ontario

isn't it great I tracked these cars out of storage and found nice homes for them ? nice if I could afford to still have this one and the blue one and of course the one in my heart (Jehra's) and a few more but I am so glad see them in good hands rather than hiding as someday cars in a garage someplace.

I recall hearing about this car back in 1988-so I went to look at it with friend's-the guy proudly showed us the original bill of sale ($3800) he wanted $5000 for the car needing restoration-I offered the same as he paid-turned me down-in 94 or 95 I stopped there driving my Deepwater blue 67 just to see if it was still there-he offered me the car at what seemed fair-I bought it-then a year or so later John bugged and bugged for it-I let John have it-then Dan was looking for one-I put him onto John (John let it roll for the profit)-Dan paid someone to do the car then sold it later that year to Legendary-after not selling it at the RM sale-anyway-Mark has a great car one of 451, 259 were L34, its a four speed too, was buckets with headrests, no ps, no pb (man's car)

Is it an original stripe car?

Is it in the registry?

Hi GUYS ! Yes i can confirm this was once Ken's car ( dont worry Ken you know i will take good care of it ! ) . the car was not an original stripe car and in fact was originally silver glaze mettalic . it is not registered on the site yet. Beaumont SD 'S
got some additional exposure to our US cousins recently when my 67 was featured in the july 09 issue  center spread of MUSCLE CAR ENTHUSIAST ! best part was that my Dad was driving the car during the on road photo shoot!
Ken , you are welcome to test drive it any time !! blankstare

nice car! i've seen some pics online and ordered the stripes after that, but they've been sitting in my drawer for a few years now, not sure if i want to put them on...

mine was silverglaze as well...and now yellow... silver wasnt 'in' in the late 80's when i did mine...

the car never looked like that when I had it-I'm glad its got a good home-imagine it would still be sitting there in a garage on 3rd concession housing cob webs

its crazy-I musta drug them all outta barns !

my first car was a 67 beaumont custom silver  and I've always searched them out
66 beaumont custom convertible white
66 beaumont custom blue
67 SD396 blue
67 SD396 silver
67 SD396 blue
67 SD396 red painted silver
67 SD396 blue-stripe car
68 SD396 ash gold

I've been working on the turquoise 66 SD ht and I've always chased two other SD cars 66 and 67

I near bought the 69 in 1999/2000

and the others that do come for sale always seem to be the same ones resurfacing

no, but they were built-Bill has the 69 HT now-he should register it-I went to see it only because I'd never seen one-I'm dumb-I go look at them and then they follow me home-I'm very close on the 66 SD SB right now.

you know ,i think its real?

B95 rear end panel moulding ,would be the Beaumont Custom trim pieces between the tailights, that would have been a option ,cause they wernt on  regular 734 Deluxe ,only the Z25 SD.

cool
