Newbee

Hi everyone, I've heard good things about this site, and decided to give it a look.  I have to agree, its an enjoyable site. I have aquired a 1949 Pontiac Fleetleader (not sure if its a deluxe, or a special), and am unsure what to do with it.  A friend and I purchased it together a few years ago with the intention of it eventually being his car.  Things change, however, and I ended up with it.  As I currently have two other projects on the go, I think this one will end up being adopted by someone who will give it a better home than I can provide. Any idea if there is any interest in this type of Pontiac?  The car is amazingly complete, very minimal rust, and other than needing a complete interior, is lacking nothing. Can anyone provide any insight on this car?

Thanks

W

Gotta love that satin black, and the visor is a big plus, add some lakes pipes and 56 Olds Fiesta spinner hubcaps

and you will be rockin' and rollin' smile.gif

Nice car! Welcome to the site. A Canadian Fleatleader, nice! If its a Model 2069, or a 2269 on the cowl tag if its got the designation "D" after it its for sure a Deluxe, but that seems not allways a hard and fast rule.
A Ch**y chassis frame, and suspension when it comes to find parts. Is it a powerglide? Or the Ole three on the tree. I'm pretty sure they put Glides in even in 49. Its gotta be a 239 flat six, tourqetube diff.
Here are some discussions allready on model breakdowns.
