1968 Laurentian with a "Corvette" engine (not mine)

To quote from the Kijiji London, Ontario ad title..........
"1968 Pontiac Laurentian - Astro Flash 327 V8 - Corvette Engine"

But, in the body of the ad.........
"....and has 24811.4 Miles on the original engine."

Huh?

I guess they weren't just Chevy engines in them ol' Pontiacs.....they were Corvette engines.
wink

Chances are good it's a 2 barrel 327 to boot. Pontiac had that in 68. I don't think Chevy did though, as far as I've seen the Chev b body 327 for 68 was always a 4 barrel.

Corvettes got Flint blocks
Canadian Pontiac most likely would have a McKinnon block

That 68 Strato Cheif wagon I was looking at last year, Thats what the owner told me it had also, a Corvette engine, I guess because its a 327, they associate it with corvette

I was talking to a fellow with a Studebaker at the car show this past weekend. As you may or may not know Studes from 65-6 got Chevy motors from McKinnon. He said the McKinnon small blocks had beefier connecting rods. Anyone else ever hear this?
