Kijiji anything selling??

Hey guys, anything selling on Kijiji. I keep seeing the same cars coming up on Toronto site [mine included] is it the time of year, or bad economy. Plenty of hits on add but no contacts? renewed my add once, but will not do it again, think it's a waste of time. Mostly "lookers???  Pete

bad economy, time of year, lookers are all players in the no sale-but lets remember we just came out of a time that you could sell anything-then again just ten years ago we waited for the auto trader month after month to see less cars than kijiji has in one day.

I've dealt with lots time wasters on there but there are buyers

Leave your ad up, theres always someone who goes back twenty pages...LOL My Denali and 60 chev are prime examples. Never got a call on either, til a month or two later....I'd forgotten they were still on there.

A lot of visits on ads, some e-mails, not many calls and very few real buyers. It's good coverage and as always "don't bitch if it's free". The goal is to get Canadians to use eBay more while competing with craigslist at the same time.

I've been thinking about putting Catalina on e-bay, & I'm guilty of browsing there too, but have never registered, my thinking there was if I don't register, I can't get myself in " TROUBLE" Anyone know what the charges are for placing an add to auction a car on e-bay, & do you sugest Cdn. site or both, wondered if car being north of border hurts interest from U S

I believe there's no charge to list, however they take a flat fee- something like $50 when the car sells.

I believe its a percentage of what the value goes for. But if it don't sell they won't ding you...

Use the Cdn. site to list, but make sure you include USA to sell to. It doesn't get enough exposure in Canada alone.

Dec 26-09   I just grabbed this header to ask a question?

I still have a house to sell... I have had good responce with KIJIJI

BUT  when I tried to list it in different Ontario cities, the ad was always rejected because it was a "duplicate or similar listing"

I was just looking in Maritime Kijiji ads and  (for example) there is a red 6200km TRans Am that shows up in every city I change to (click on)...

My question is    How do I do that with my House????

I've never had a problem listing in multiple settings. I just go to that "city" and list from there. It's been a month or so since I've listed though so perhaps the rules have changed. I'd change the wording somewhat and perhaps the Kijiji software wont detect it as a duplicate..

I had the same experience as 427 Carl last summer when I had my 64 Catalina up for sale.

Carl-I've had ads pulled from listing in multiple cities in the past but only when I copy and paste the ad-if I go to the next city and type the whole deal again it seems to stay there fine. Not sure how the site would know the difference but its worked that way for me the few times that I've had something for sale.

You can cut & paste. Just change up a few things like Capital Letters & commas,,,. Just post your town, not your postal code.

I'll try that!   I have been copy and pasting the same add
We had a couple, from Guelph up week before Chrsitmas, and they were into old houses
and loved the wood floors, and dry basement, and new gas furnace, and a/c and water heater and big back yard and 2 driveways and garage and new hydro service and no smell in house   I hope they contact us ....

It's still not selling. Pretty much anything is stalled. It would be a shame, But I really need the room, so If this car (80 z-28 ) is still here in the spring, I'm gonna part it out. Too bad as to get a rotter to this shape does not make sense tome. Oh well.
