http://www.autoblog.com/2009/10/02/report-toyota-chief-admits-company-is-in-rough-shape-grasping/

Toyota may have made $17.7 billion in 2007, but the $4.5 billion it lost in 2008 and the $5.7 billion it expects to shed in 2009.............

The only reason GM was such a big deal was that the biggest fall the hardest.

I am constantly asked what was wrong with GM. Honestly, not much that isn't wrong with most of the car makers. They're all in trouble, no doubt about it.

Over production & capacity, bad union contracts, blander and blander styling, head gasket problems(50 years after they should have been figured out), accountants instead of car guys running the show..........

Good! Let 'em sink! no bailout $$ let Japan bail them out! If they go, more cars will roll out of G.M, and maybe Pontiac will be resurected!!

However, there are some accountant type people who are car guys, and even drive Acadians!!!

My son in law and I were discussing the differences between the big three and others and we both thought that the styling was way too bland (GM).  On the other hand, my wife would base her buying decision on how many cupholders and cubbyholes the vehicle had!!! Sadly, she is not a car person but is married to a car guy, who makes his living counting beans.
