Yup - winterizing here too. Winter tires on the daily driver, fall oil change and once-over. Tarping up the boat & camper. Change the oil and filters on the lawntractor and exchange it for the snowblower. Getting a couple cords of firewood cut, hauled home, split & stacked, sweep the chimney, shock the well and change the water filter, change furnace filter & smoke detector batteries, check the fire extinguishers, clean the gutters, drain the irrigation system, bring in the garden, get a top-up charge on all the batteries and disconnect them....
What would happen if I lived somewhere the seasons didn't change? Nothing would ever get done!
Speaking of leaks. Found about 1/2 qt of trans fluid lying under my 88 Wrangler. It appears now the shifter shaft seal is leaking. I got the seal ($5) from a local transmission shop. It looks to be a fun job to replace with the transmission in the Jeep. Had I known it was bad I could have popped it out from underneath when I had the pan off.
Since it was 21 degrees here today I decided to leave work a couple of hours early and tackle that leaking (profusely) shifter shaft seal on the transmisson of my 88 Jeep. That is not a job I want to do again on my back! I left the linkage off the shaft and wrapped a paper towel around it. I topped up the fluid and am going to let it sit overnight. If the paper towel is dry in the morning I'll assemble everything and breath a sigh of relief. If it's wet I'm getting the guy I bought the seal from to do it!
Finally got over to buds to get the 1940's sawmill up and running so we could cut up the logs I hauled over there a couple of years back. Carb float was full of gas...no surprise...dad had one in his collection! Also a couple of cool old Fordson Major's. Can anyone ID the engine?

it will be 44 years old next May. Its a Falcon but not a f%rd falcon. Cast iron burner finally rust out 5 years ago but was able to still buy a new one.
Those Falcon's were built to last Kevin. My parents had one for a good 20 years. An In-ground model. The pipe rusted out and couldn't be replaced. So they scrapped it. Could no longer buy an in ground model anywhere anymore as they became illegal.
Funny, I thought I might have a winner in my 27 year old Wait broilmaster...but no.
This one is still kicking as it's built super robust, and all the parts are still available for it. The guy at Burlington BBQ said never get rid of it...so I didn't. Ugly, but it works great. I think I might restore it this winter lol!
I've been building a rotisserie. Its been a while since I actually worked in the shop designing
Lots of fun. I think I should be able to use it on locomotive restorations. You know what comes next. We'll try again thiswinter.maby I will actually work on a car.
I did license my 71 acadian. And the 70 Camaro I bought in manifobia. No issues.

Had another day to work on the rotisserie. Knocked it half apart and started over.
Got it back to where I was before and added sterring after moving the wheels and the Jacks.
It's more better now. Off to Dawson Creek for the week. Maby my last trip. (Retirement home trip next )
I put my snow tires on yesterday, then today it is supposed to hit 15C with rain.............
