A rare car. Looks pretty solid. 67 Caprice coupe is one of my favorite Chevy body styles. It will be nice when it's restored. Look forward to seeing how it turns out.

most of sheet metal not too bad. These cars had rear window rot and would leak into the trunk. The trunk pan will need to be replaced
Also measure the distance front to back on the tower. There's 2 dimension there as well. Or if you already have the new mounts, just try them.
Last year I visited a friend who had his car apart, 396 in it. We got talking about mounts and I told him about the 2 sizes. He hadn't even noticed that he had used the engine mount with the long dimension (wide opening) and the frame tower with the short dimension. He'd run it that way for a few years! You can tighten the mount bolt but the engine can move front to back about 3/8" of an inch or maybe even more.
The towers on the 65 measure 2 5/8 wide.
The Prothane mounts are the same. So all is good Carl. thanks for the heads up though.

Cut the grommet to fit on the cable, and basically glued it back together with Ultra Black. Snapped into the 1" hole nicely.
Mark! I wish you would have asked. The grommet fits over, it just takes about 10 minutes of working it to get it there. Someone mentioned to me when I was doing mine that the grommet won't fit over the end. It's not good to tell a man he can't do something...

Wish I had a good original Carl. The offshore repop I had was hard as a rock, way thicker and the metal inside it was wider. No way to get the smaller cable end nut through.
Regardless, you can't see the cut now as it sits. But again, thanks Carl.

Strange thing to see, we dont usually take our engines for a walk around here. See lots of dogs and the odd cat being walked, but no engines.

its ok don it was a small block walk......
A real walk would be a 235 with an ironglide attached? Weighs more than a big block and a 4 speed.

Managed to get 2 coats of POR-15 rust preventative on a good number of suspension parts and hung to dry. Hope to finish the rest today and get the frame done Saturday. The front control arms, related pieces and frame will also get the top coat. The same treatment is in store for all engine bay pieces and front pans. I have new coils springs from Classic Industries and debating if I should blast the black coating off them and apply POR-15. Does anyone know if the springs are coated with EDP or is it actual paint?
