Well here's one reason why I haven't bought an old car this year. "Mr. Sensible" strikes again.
Do you think the folks who built this house in the 1800's had any idea that some day we'd be able to get electricity from the sun? Fourteen 445 watt panels. The incentives were too good to pass up. We'd like to get another 16 panels (ground mounted) in the next couple of years.
It's a 6.2kw grid tied system. When you install a grid tied system here in PEI you have two meters. One for power you use from the grid, the other from how much you give back. You get monthly credits. So if I give 1000kw back to the grid, I get that much taken off my bill. The KW/Hr rate is the same both ways. Not quite as generous as the Ontario plan where they pay a higher amount for what you produce.
The PEI gov't offers a $1000 rebate for every KW of solar system you install. The system has a neat phone ap that will allow me to monitor how much power the panels are producing, real time usage and historical solar production.
The panels and inverter have a performance warranty of 25 years (workmanship and materials 12 years). Payback time is about 8 years.
Most things fall and hit me on the head! But once in a while they fall in my lap!! Mentioned to a customer a few weeks back that I had bought a lathe,,,,then he asks, "Do you want a
milling machine??"....um ya!! Thinking I need to build another bay....
Playing with my birthday gift, 7000lb Quickjack. Wifey also bought the extension blocks for the truck. Pretty slick, I like it. Just gonna order some rubber pinchweld blocks off of Amazon for her Murano and were set.

Nice score! You definitely need more space now....

Nice calendar by the way. 2021 or an old favourite?

Yup..thinking another bay in front of the other bay.... Need a metal work bay....wood work bay....welding bay.....autobody bay...paint bay!!! Need a lot of bays!!!! just need to change the "B" to D...need the days to build the bays!!

Hard to find in this day and age! From last year...have a new perky one for this year. Have been getting the same "good one" for 25 years from the same customer. Could PM you all 4 seasons if you like.
Ill be selling an old boring machine and a rotex punch (up to 2 inch and 16 gauge) for a friend one of these days. Just have to figure out what they are worth.

Spent money on tools again. This time on a power bleeder for brakes. This thing works fantastic. I had a slow fluid leak in my rear brakes. (Dual reservoir) could not find it. I dry pumped the system up to 20lbs. and tapped the pedal, it blew fluid out the proportioning valve. after i replaced the proportioning valve i had a firm pedal. I bled the brakes with my sons help and now have a rock hard pedal.
Still plugging away on my parents Karmann Ghia project. The body is roughed out and in primer. Spent a couple weeks cleaning and painting power train parts. Put the pan on my motorcycle lift and assembled.
We're one step closer to having a functional solar system. The electrician came out Friday and installed the disconnect switch, second meter head and tied it all in to the mains.
It's interesting to note that the inverter is on the roof so that black cable is already AC line voltage. The green wire is ground. For safety sake the system requires a "signal" from the grid to operate. If power is lost from the grid it shuts down. It waits 30 seconds after grid power is restored to come back on.
The next step is an inspection (hopefully early next week) and then hopefully by the end of next week Maritime electric will install two new meters.

Good stuff! The labeling of the components reminds me of the interior of the 1966 Batmobile:
