Started lifting interlocking stones for new cistern going in on Tuesday. I picked them up on the trailer and put them down on the tennis court. Easier then trying to figure out jigsaw puzzle latter

Thats interesting Carl. At least you decide to keep it out of the way of the houses and people.
I watched some episode on YouTube, I think it was a comedian talking about all the things we used to take for granted that have gone, some (most) for the better. He went on to say some stuff we take for granted right now will also be gone at some point.
I predict the end of freely spray bomb painting anything we want, anytime, anyplace with no regard to the environment. I do it ALL THE TIME, and it makes me laugh I can still actually do it. And some of it is pretty nasty.

I originally planned to do it in turn around at the end of our dead end street but I thought the house at the end was maybe too close. That's when the green space idea came into my head.
I am totally with you on the spray bombs. I was thinking it again today as I did this, someday this will all come to an end.

I see you didn't have the motor balanced when you rebuilt it
LOL, I had to use the bolt in the front of the intake for the alternator bracket and a bellhousing bolt in the back. I didn't want to use intake bolts because then I have areas that the paint misses. The alternator bolt won't matter if the paint missed because the bracket will cover it! The balance wasn't the greatest!

Not much site time or car time lately! Had the Canso out a few times but no car shows. Spending all weekends at JR (Jordan River) building the boat shelter/dock area. Most of the time just me working (wife helps when she can)...but once in a while my son James comes out for the weekend to help. Have taken out some huge stumps! Some the size of my machine. No power yet...so genset for cement mixer, water barrel and bobcat brings up the gravel. RV is at home for holidays up Island on thursday. Getting there slowly.....
Finally got the LS4 together and running... ran it for nearly 30 minutes @2300rpm to cam break in. Changed oil and added a bottle of EOS. (cam break in added during the procedure) Although it may not have needed it as I have 2-100 drums of "SH" 5W-30 that I use in all the old cars... good or bad?
Then a test run for another 1/2 hr with the transmission left in 4th gear to keep the revs up to near 1900rpm. (MD8, THM700-R4) Seems ok but should have possibly did a 3/4 turn on the rocker nut instead of 1/2.

The old tech where I worked always told me 3/4 of a turn on the rockers and because I trust him that's what I've always done. Have you traditionally done 1/2 a turn Vince?

Yes. I so much wanted to do 3/4 but I have heard so many horror stories with these new cams I figured 1/2 was probably best. GM says 1 full turn but it always gave grief in the past.

It certainly seems like every forum has nothing but nightmare stories when cams are the topic.

But I had to. An old friend came home today. It's been living in Alberta under the care of my nephew since about 2011 but he wasn't using it any more and of all the cars I've ever owned and sold, this one ranks #2 on the list of regrets.
This isn't the one I swapped the 6 speed into, that was another SS I owned at the same time as this one. This one is in far superior condition and has way less miles on it.
