I fabricated a way to heat my paint booth utilizing the wood stove that came with the barn on my property.

It was a 40 x 40 barn with 12 foot ceiling and dirt floor. Its taken me awhile but its been renovated and power and a concrete floor have been added. I also built a 25 x 15 paint room/ car storage, that is sealed off from rest of shop. I was going to use electric to heat but decided to use the wood stove instead.

The wood stove heats up the shop fairly quickly but did not heat up other room very well, so I came up with this idea.
I welded in two 4.5 pipes through the top barrel and then fabricated a couple boxes to accept 6 ducting and will run it into the other room. I am using a 6 inline fan to push the air through, it has a hepa filter at the beginning. I have not tested it yet because I need a bit more 6 ducting but I am confident it will work.

First I rewire my sons 2007 FORD f150 (now mine). Now I am helping a friend with his MOPAR, 1962 Plymouth Savoy 440 big block.

a shorted alternator made a mess of the wiring. After trouble shooting a no start, no charging issue, we decided to replace the engine bay harness. Thanks Evans wiring harnesses for making a custom harness that allowed for the Mopar electronic ignition.

Its running and charging now. I offered to install his exhaust cutouts on my lift. Then tackle a custom dash panel for aftermarket gauges. IMG_2412.jpegE8259B2E-5C29-4C0B-9477-D36A713A61D0.jpegE8259B2E-5C29-4C0B-9477-D36A713A61D0.jpeg4E9395B7-4D09-4DFB-8F43-0638C6D2964D.jpeg4E9395B7-4D09-4DFB-8F43-0638C6D2964D.jpeg

I know some of you are using the bucket with spinning bottle style of rodent control.  (pic for reference, not mine)

My question is how many are using antifreeze or are most people releasing into the wild away from the house/garage?

How many guests to do allow before you empty the bucket?

It's a big day for my son. He purchased a "mini home" from a friend of ours who lives about 1/2 km down the road. We severed 2 acres from the 16 acres we own next to our place for him. These homes are well built - 2x6 construction. It's crazy how prices have gone up. This building alone (14 years old) cost more than what I paid for my house on 8 acres!

This was about 2 hours ago. They had to set the home down on the road in order for the truck to turn around and load it from the other side. This allowed them to place it with the proper orientation.

The home gets mounted on piles screwed into the ground. Here it is almost in place. He opted to have the rear face the road so he can enjoy the view from the vier area at the rear of the property from his living room window.

Some inside photos taken when we first looked at it:

Here is how it looked at it's original location. It was custom built and only used during the summer months

It's our plan that when he outgrows it (marriage, kids etc) he'll move into our 4bedroom home and we'll slide over to the mini home.

They dont make them like they used to. I think they are built to normal building codes now for insulation etc. Looks like a great deal for him and you.

Unfortunately there was some damage to the interior walls during the move. The truck got stuck moving the building up onto the pad and they had to use another truck to pull it. There was a pretty good "jerk" before it got freed up and I'm sure that's what did the damage. We'll be doing some drywall repair and paint to most of the interior before he can move in. My son isn't phased by it. He rolls with the punches pretty well. At least everything else is ok (windows, appliances etc)

Those mini homes are pretty stout. For about 8 years we used to do the deficiency repairs on any new Maple Leaf Home that was placed on a lot up until last year. When I went into the very first one I was floored by how far they have come since the typical mobile home sitting on axles. They exceed R2000 specifications these days and you can heat the things with a candle. Most are 16 feet wide and 74 feet long. More than big enough for a small family

I was impressed too with how well they are built. We almost bought a new one when we first moved here. They are pretty air tight and have air exchangers just like a new home. While the mini home came with two heat pumps my son wants to install a wood stove to take advantage of all the free wood we have here.

What about one of those outside burners? You could heat both houses and your shop with one unit

$750.00 in insulation, ready to go in Saturday.

I am using Rockwool because of the sound deadening quality.

I know I paid about $35.00 a bag the last time I bought it.

I still had one bag from back then.

Sticker shock, $91.00 a bag was the best price I could find.

That's insane the price of that now Randy. But could well be considered a deal come 25.

Snuck into Kevin's warehouse today and grabbed a quick shot before he noticed me from the tow motor. I think this was his 390hp rack. It's said he keeps the 425' rack in a local nursing home.

Used the cat's favourite Rockauto box to ship car parts.

Now the cat has to put up with a much smaller box.

Not sure if this was a Canadian option or not, but I added it as a convertible doesnt have a dome light.aww So, I picked up this 1969 12 rear view mirror with the map light for $30. The back was excellent, but it needed a new mirror installed (which I already had) and I re-wired it. The big difference from the original, was converting the standard 561 bulb to accept a similar bright white xenon (600 lumens) bulb that mounts 90 degrees from the way the original bulb mounts. The picture shows the end result.
