If you are going to do a conversion it has to be to a real El Camino. Now that would look nice. This one ... no.

looks great-I was going to do one as an SD back in the mid 1990's-I had all the SD stuff (which was hard to get at the time-a southern BB El Camino body etc... but it never got done-I sold most of the SD stuff to Wes.

Would love to see this one done.

That would sure make people talk. I would imagine soon enough it would be "documented" as 1 of 1, also.......

If the wrong person got ahold of it, I mean!

IMG_0006.jpgIMG_0005.jpgIMG_0017.jpgIMG_0021.jpgIMG_0026.jpgHere's  my take on what GM should have built back in 1969.
I started with all the goodies from my old Beaumont and trans planted them on a 69 El Camino I picked up in cali.   400 small block. Home made cowl induction to make the big block hood actually work. 350 turbo trans. Had WAY too much fun with this beastie.  Called it a Beaumino.........

Yeah it looks like he hasn't been on this site for 10 years and unless there is a buddy of his that still comes on it may be hard to track him. I just sold a 64 Beaumont grill to a guy in Florida 2 months ago and he is installing it a 64 El Camino. He should be getting close to installing it as he was just getting the LS fine tuned for it and then was going to move ahead with the mod.

You could try to send him a private message and if by chance he still has the same email address he used to register here he may get a notification.

Interesting, just bought a 66 El Camino that have been considering making into El Beau. Have all the parts except a few
SD emblems. (same emblems still need for my 66 SD) I think I will forgo doing this creation now that I know it has been done before. Had no idea it had been done before until reading on this website. If you need to know anything about Beaumonts this is the place.. Keep up the good work spreading the word about such projects.

Not a Beaumont, but a buddy had a 1979 ElCamino and transplanted the front clip and the dash and interior from a Pontiac Lemans onto the ElCamino. It looked factory and he got lots of attention at cruise nights.
