What annoys you about people these days?

These days there seems to be a complete lack of common sense and manners among people. I see it everyday in my job. What bugs you about people?

For me, it's people talking (or texting) on their damn cell phones at the same time I'm trying to look after them at work. I can't believe how ignorant people are. The WORSE ones are the idiots wearing those stupid Bluetooth headsets. I had a guy with one of those a couple of weeks ago talking to someone while he was checking his car in for service. I'm pretty much at the end of my tolerance and the next person who does this to me will hear about how I feel about this type of behavour. furious

The only person who looks good wearing one of these is her:
bluetooth-headset-freaks.jpg

Let's face it, do you really want something that's transmitting a frequency in the ghz range stuck to your brain all day? Can you say brain tumor?

I have a feeling this will be a long thread. Thank God we're perfect. biggrin

Then in the middle of the conversation they start texting back.steaming.gif Might as well be talking to the floor. This never ends pretty much at any table you look at there is one person texting.bleh Man can't it wait till you get home or something? Take a break in your day thats why you sitting there!

what gets me to no end is the pedestrians out on the west coast ( cause I cant speak for the east) I know when I was a kid and your were crossing the street you made an attempt to hurry it up a bit was just common courtesy and to this day I still do, now you sit and wait for them to cross at thier own leisure however slow that may be and apparently the flashing red hand means its ok to start your trip accross the street, meanwhile the guy trying to turn the corner is stuck to run a light or gets hung in the intersection cause some idiot decided to run out in front of you, these guys have to realize the crossing hands are timed to allow pedestrians to cross and traffic to make thier turns each must share, just cause there is a crosswalk doesnt mean you own it!!!! man try that in some of the european countries where the car still has the right of way and see what happens
man where has the respect of the motor vehicle gone

Yes to all of the above especially rude people everywhere and that damn phone-in-the-ear yakking all the time, for the latter I just start talking really loud next to them to annoy them in return. Fortunately I am not in the service business so I do not have to put up with multi-tasking texters who are not paying attention.

I'd be lost without my blackberry, especially since my job responsibilities requires me to be available 24/7, when computers crash or the burglar alarm goes off it really screws up you buisness, BUT you have to practice common courtesy. For example, I leave it in the glove box when I go into stores, I don't take it into church, I don't take it to hockey practice or games. I use e-mail or SMS much more than voice too. In fact it's not near me right now.

This morning in Church a very good friend pulled his out, blackberry I mean, the second the last Amen was sung...no

All of the abovementioned are annoying; people are clearly addicted to the technology. (I have to have the BB for my work, but if I didn't, I would not have one). The most annoying though is people talking on cell or bluetooth when they are supposed to be talking face to face with someone they are in conversation with; or within earshot of others in a manner which disturbs everyone around them. It's just plain rude in my opinion - there's no other word for it.

What annoys me is when people post in the parts wanted classified section that are clearly not interested in paying any fare market value for there parts. I say if you want to pay nothing for it get off your A** and do the leg work it takes to get the deals. Don't waist the time of guys who collect this stuff to finance our rides. If we don't make some kind of money we probably couldn't afford to do our own cars. If you post a wanted add on the internet you would expect to pay at least fare market value for your parts. I generally don't sell parts but when I run into one of these guys it reminds me why I don't. My two bits. Eg.... Looking for a 64-65 ElCamino frame. What would you pay for a 65 El Camino, convertible frame?

Another one is when people email about a car you have for sale and offer you 50% of your price when the ad states PRICE is FIRM. You know they woudn't even have the money anyway if you said yes to the offer. Internet zero's who have no brains or money.

all of the above and since i drive for a living people on cell phones scare me on the highways and when i get to a jobsite to deliver the doors and trim into the house and there on break or lunch and they just sit there and dont move out of your way, i dont think i should really have to say can you please move so i dont smack you in the noodle with a 150lb door!!! common sense and respect to eachother is what is truly lacking in society today. And yes, we are all perfect, we own kick-ass cars!!

I love people ! whos better than people ?

complaints

1) people who block intersections/entrances when stopped/driving

2) people who drive in the left lane

3) people who are jealous of those who make an effort to turn a profit

4) people who don't pay their bills-you ordered it-pay for it !

5) people who know more about your profession than you do-even though they hired your service

6) people who think they can buy it for less even though it says firm

7) people who think just because its for sale-it has to be cheap and/or the person selling needs to sell

8) people who think your asking too much yet they would ask more themselves

9) people who don't show up

10) people who list their questions or whatever numbered like these ones

I am sick and tired of people not saying "thank you" when I have just purchased something at their store.....

You will be hard pressed to find someone who made a purchase at our dealership parts department who did NOT get a "thank you".

"There ya go"  DOES NOT TRANSLATE INTO "Thank you" NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY!

furious

Rant over.........

I gotta agree with the Thank you. I catch myself thanking cashiers at times when they should be thanking me for deciding to shop there, thus keeping them employed and in business. Rarely do I hear a thank you anymore.
Another one is the way people manouver their shopping carts. Can you imagine what it would be like if people drove their cars the same way? People, if you're going to stop for whatever reason, move off to the side. Don't park in the middle of the aisle.

Carl you have to try what my father-in-law does man does he get some serious looks and usually an embarrased thank you after he does it,
what he does and he only does it when the cashier does not say thank-you is he looks straight at them and says "thank-you  for letting me shop here" and he does it so serious like people don't know what to say but you know they got the message, I'll never forget the first time I seen him do it was at a K-mart as we were walking out I said to him what the heck was that and he told me she never thanked him so that was his sarcastic way of pointing it out to her, you need to try it sometime it works well and gets the message across loud and clear.

People not being courteous or respectful in general in my opinion. Just this past weekend the two things that spiked my disgust metre are people's driving habits and people walking/pushing carts in grocery stores. They stop in the middle of the aisle or come ramming through. Both of these got increased awareness due to having junior with us.

Also all of the above, but what I have also noticed is the lack of acknowledgement when you hold a door for someone! furious  Very seldom do you hear a "thanks" when you pause, holding the door for them so now it's tempting to make a point of not doing it anymore.   Sadly, chivalry is dying...disbelief
