Hi, I am a new member. I love Pontiacs and have had many over the years. I live in the Sunny Okanagan, B.C., and have a 1960 Pontiac Catalina 2-door hard top and a 1960 Pontiac Ventura 2-door hard top that I am in the process of doing a frame-off. Finding parts for these big American cars is very difficult in my area. I have found an ad for a pair of 850 x 14 Dominion Royal Master Tires at Florence Ontario that I want for my Pontiac, they are just south of Petrolia in Southern Ontario. As I live in B.C. is there any member in this vicinity of Ontario that could possibly look at these tires for me? Bob

Bob also used to own the 60 Catalina that I had. Is there anyone near Petrolia who can check out these tires for Bob? I'll changed your title to bring attention to folks in that area Bob..
I live in Petrolia and Florence is about 20 minutes away.
I don't mind going to look at these tires for you, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Are they very old ? Is there a way to tell how much life is left on tires like these ?
So, if any/all of you can give me some hints/tips on what to look for, I'll certainly go check them out.
Scott I have been looking for a set of Dominion Royal master tires for my car. I came across an ad on the Sarnia Kijijji ,and a have been told there are a lot of scams on this website. These tires were made in the early to late 60's, so wanted to see if this was a reputable seller and that he actually had the tires he says he has .If I made arrangements with him for a viewing time would it be possible for you to look at them for me.He doesn't have a picture of them on the ad or to send me so I am a bit wary that it may be a scam. If you could look at them and possibly send me some pics of the tires it would be appreciated. Bob

Hi Thanks for the response. I had a yellow 1962 Parisienne 2 dr ht in 1964 , 6 cyl auto, a slow car but beautiful to look at. Had a 1963 Parisienne 2 dr ht in 1966, 327 250 hp auto, aqua colour, another nice car, have always loved and thought the Ponts were the best. Your 1962 sounds like a nice car ,any photos available Bob

In the early 60's had a girl friend whose parents had a 1960 Parisienne Wagon with the 2 tone brown paint scheme and had a set of the Royal Masters on it . The interior had the brown cloth material, a killer wagon absolutely beautiful with the 283 auto.

todd I saw his for sale ad in Kijijji, but he wouldn't send any pics. My daughter said there are a lot of scammers on this Kijijji website which made me feel uneasy about the whole ad. Thats why I wanted to have someone in the area check it out before I made any Commitment $ wise. I'm in contact with Scott from Petrolia who was kind enough to offer to view them for me .You have made contact with a great group of car fanatics, wish Doug Bendle had the same circulation with the SOS. Maybe he does nowadays as I haven't been in contact with him for quite a while as he has no answering machine whenever I call never seems to be in .He is a great guy , but may be like myself, not too knowledgable with the computer so doesn't have a site like yourself.

I know this guy. His name is Wayne Chapman. He's a good guy and a straight shooter. I have seen some of the tires and would have to say they are near new. Don't forget the fact they are Bias-ply so you will sacrafice ride, but it's worth it for the look.
67 HEAVEN I would have the tires mounted on an extra set of wheels strictly for show, as I know these tires are OLD. I also have a '56 Chevy that I just purchased at Casco Michigan last month. An original unmolested 265 V8 power glide that I am presently collecting standard transmission parts for a 3-speed collumn swap. Here's a couple pics of it. Bob
