OK HERE IS THE DEAL SINCE NOBODY IS INTEREST ON THE CAR I GOING TO MAKE SOME CHANGES ARE THE PONTIAC THE SAME AS THE CHEVY BELAIR TALKING ABOUT CHASSIS DOORS TRUNK HOOD I FOUND A KIT ON CARS INC TO MAKE A 55 56 57 CHEVY BEL AIR INTO A CONVERTIBLE SO I WAS THINKING IF I CAN USE THE SAME KIT FOR MY PONTIAC I KNOW THANKS TO TAYLOR THAT MY CAR IS SOME COMPATIBLE TO THE 56 CHEVY 210 SO ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME THANKS
Someone will likely come along and politely prove I'm an idiot but I say if you lift the Pontiac body off the frame, whatever is left standing there is identical to an Impala.
The chassis is definitely the same. The cowl and front floor pan would also work. I read an article posted on the Jalopy Journal that shows changing a '55 Chevy 4 door to a 2 door post. So changing to a convertible is possible, but will be expensive! I wish you were closer and wanted to trade for 2 Trans Am GTA's!

1. Chassis same (except convertible chassis had additional X-member, you cannot have sufficient frame stiffness for the convertible body without it), all running gear is same - front & rear suspension, steering, brakes, etc. 2. Doors same (except of course for trim) 3. Trunk similar except placement of lock is different (higher on the Chevy) and thus the latch is different - you could use Chevy trunk with its latch on your car and vice versa 4. Hood and front fenders different - radiator and core support same
That 55 convert body is $30,000 US! Yikes!
Your complete front clip should fit that body, would be a really cool car - also your complete dash should fit the Chevy body, also would be really cool. Would need to add X-member to your frame, however.
