Me too! Try opening your own business by yourself and doing everything from appointments, work, parts PR, closing RO's, making sure it is all charged out, banking, tax's including, gst, pst etc, etc, etc.......

 All in a days work!!!

Oh, someone (not me) ordered wrong part that was in a panic to get.

Order desk guy at Goodyear had a serious attitude with me when I asked about a back ordered tire.

I really enjoy the counter and phones. I also very much enjoyed the management part when I was doing it too. This was just one of those days where I got to be the messenger and it wasn't always the news people wanted to hear!

I really don't like pointing fingers and saying "well, if he or she hadn't screwed up, this would have all been fine". I did that in my second post here, mostly out of frustration. I willingly accept the verbal abuse and admit when it's solely me responsible for the grief. I hate having to take flak for other's mistakes when they are able to hide and not face the customer.

When I am a customer and I call an order desk, talk to someone who works an order desk all day (Goodyear) and the guy is a total *ss it makes me wonder how he keeps his job and why he is on an order desk anyway if he hates doing his job so much.

I know I shouldn't complain about this but it is so damn busy at work that by the end of the day I can't even think straight. We consistently overbook. A good service advisor should be able to comfortably handle 17 repair orders a day. I'm writing 26-30! I work tomorrow and it's going to be insane-and theirs only two of us advisors compared to 4 through the week and we are booked just as heavy. We have only just begun the snow tire season and we expect it will be even busier in the next 2 weeks. I have never worked at a place that sells more snow tires than this dealer.

Don't get me started Keith! Somethings gotta change or they'll be training a bunch of newbies.

The boss says to me last week "How come you wrote so many repair orders last month?(584)" disbelief

Years ago it was easier at our place. It just gets busier all the time. Yes, this is great. However, I've never forgotten years ago when my GM District Parts Manager looked at our parts sales. He told me that based on the averages from other dealerships, our parts department was understaffed. He said we should have a bit more than 1/2 another parts guy. It was good to know that he was going to tell my boss I am overworked!!! Never hurts at raise time or Christmas time!

Oh, and don't get me wrong. Just cause I had a tough day doesn't mean I hate my job. I still love getting up to go to work each day. Except when it's my Saturday, grrrrrrrr...................

Yep, the Virgo in me doesn't do well with sudden changes. I have a neighbors utility trailer at my place as I was going to fill it full of junk and do a dump run. Then, Connie and I were to visit the jewelers to look at rings for the big day plus I was going to get caught up on my Canadian Poncho accounting for last month.

Oh I also wrote 33 repair orders today!

They are going to miss you when you are gone...wink   I argued with my Doctor for 5 years!  I said I can't leave!  He said  "leave on your own" or you will be "rolled out on a stretcher"....      For 16 years I made the business fly.. used equipment,  min. staff,  long hours, no pay raise..  Now they spent 600,000 on new building and manger got 15G more per yr than me... and place is losing 50g per year   go figure  no
