A funny thing happened today while fixing an '89 Caprice

Stopped by to help a nieghbour put a floor in his 1989 Caprice winter car......

But best of all Rod brought out his special car to play today, only 6 mikes on a fresh engine rebuild when these shots were taken. He's owned it since 1972. He says emphathically, I've never lost a race" and I believe him. I post a lot of pics because I figure most of us only ever see this on TV or in magazines. I know it's a Ford but you have to respect the "King of the Road"

No, this is the first time it's been out in about two years. I think this thing is probably worth the price of a small house. He's pretty careful with it, But since he's our friend he lets us clammer all over it. I did ask him if I could shoot the pics though. He's got a cool license plate but I'm not taking any chances so I blocked it out.

22 gauge sheet metal cut and bent to fit, pop riveted in and caulked the edges...it's a $300 car to get Ed through the winter.

Back when the prices were up I saw one at BJ go for 450000.00 U.S. I kept the buy sell and trade that it was in, it said 185000.00 or it's going to BJ. Same car but red. That guy made a killing. Very nice to see your friend sharing that ride with others because it's worth a ton.

As far as the cruise lineup Ray...I actually like the Caravelle the best. It's rare, you never see them as compared to the everyday run of the mill Shelby.

Does the guy with the Shelby have the original air cleaner?? Since he has owned the car for so long, I guess that he would.

Yup, he just put that one on in the rebuild, it fits into the scoop intake too. It was an awesome piece, looked like a racing piece, brushed aluminum not chrome, pan is shaped like a funnel.

A KR is a really fast car. I haven't seen a real one since I was a kid. It's amazing to see what is still out there.

back in the mid 90's my buddies Neighbour had a red KR with a 428,always sat in the driveway uncovered,i think it was a divorce. sat for years never moved,always wanted to ask?

a few years later i returned from moving to Toronto,i see that willies brother now owns it,what did he pay ?
$8000 buckscry drove it away

lesson learned,i doesnt hurt to ask!!

Ya, I drove over to 65 Camino's place to see what progress was with the floor and the Shelby was already there. Bit by bit the rest showed up from around the neighbourhood. It was neat, people we stopping as they drove and walked by too.
