Some pics of the fleet. The black 65 SS I've had for nearly 20 years now and will never sell, the drop top is the wife's cruiser, the 59 old school mild kustom and now the new project, 67 Canso for my daughter, got 11 years to do it, might be enough time.
very nice collection and i love the 59, my fav year for cars. Wish i could own 4 other 59's, the impala like yours, a buick, a caddy, and the dodge. I have the pontiac of course and thats all im "allowed" to have the wife said!
It's not just because it's the only non Chevy (!!!) but the Acadian needs to have a story told about it please!
OK Carl, here it is.
I got the Acadian from my Dad's cousin. It was his first car. It seems his neighbor was salesman at Towne Pontiac and when Al got a job at MTS in 1970, the neighbor decided Al needed a car and brought this one home for him, a fresh trade in from a little old lady. Al owned it ever since. He stopped driving it around 81 or so. About 8 years ago he and his boys decided they would "fix it up", they got as far as taking it apart and it has sat since then. When I heard he finally decided to sell it I had to have it, as this car is why I've always loved these Acadians/Novas of 66/67. Many memories as a kid riding around with cousin Al. He also built a white one back in the day to run at Keystone/Bison dragways, Fuelie 283 Powerglide don't remember what class he wanted to run but NHRA wouldn't let him because they had no listing for an Acadian, make it a Nova or go bracket racing they said. So this one stays in the family, will make a good first car for my daughter, she's 5 now so I should have a couple of years to enjoy it before handing over the keys.
