A fellow advisor had a customer today with a new Sienna minivan. He purchased a new set of Michelin X ice tires. He had a set of steel wheels and winter tires with hubcaps from his since traded Dodge Caravan. He told the advisor that he just wanted the plastic hubcaps of the old set and asked if we could dispose of the tires and rims. When the van was in the shop I happened to take a look at the snows. They were Toyo's and looked to have only been used one season! I know a certain Park Avenue that's getting snow tires this year! Thanks Mr. More-money-than-brains!
I acquired a set of all season 17's for my Impala SS a few years ago in a similar manner. Ran them for about 3 summers after I got them! Gotta love rich customers!!!

Used to have luck like that at Canadian Tire as well...Always a customer that needs new tires, even though theres nothing wrong with the ones he has. Got more than one good set of tires this way.

so he gave up a perfectly good Dodge Caravan for a Toyota ?? thats the storey right , lol
It's not fun to brag when a guy is lucky and gets a great deal???
Boy, I've told lots of people about the lady that gave us a free 67 Pontiac when we knocked on her door to ask if it was for sale. I didn't think that was so bad to brag about that.
I guess we all see things in a different light....

Exactly. I am often happy to acquire other people's throw aways!
There are people who always have to have new, or close to new stuff. I am not that way and didn't grow up that way. I've learned to be happy with less than perfect. The set of 17" tires came from a guy who is not happy with less than perfect.
