not sure how to title this pic, but kyle and i where in the middle of hanging coat hooks when my wife called me from the harbour and said she couldn't believe how huge the wave were breaking against the pier. needless to say i always can be talked into a coffee run. these has to be the largest ones i've seen. they were spashing up i would say 15 ft or more then the winds were taking the tops off them. my wife was parked on the west side of the pier but her car was being rocked by the winds.

looks like waves you see, off the front of the Ship, you served on
Out driving yesterday, a couple of streets over, I saw three cars being backed out of a driveway. At the top of the drive sat a costco tent...with a tv tower smashed down on the top of it. The gusts were really strong, and I'm glad, I have a 60' maple on my front yard, and now I have no leaves to rake!

Cool picture Steve. Absolutely amazing the power of wind and of water and especially when combined. I think we had the same wind here yesterday as there where major white caps on the lake and I saw 2 or 3 kite surfers or whatever you call them just flying along barely touching the water. It's all great power when it's in control but I've got a house with walls and some trusses standing and it blew one of the braces right loose off the wall. Lucky no real harm done.

Don't get me wrong those were the biggest waves i've seen in cobourg. Now i've seen 75 ft swells breaking on the bridge of the ship, that was a storm. it was a sea state 10, basically a full force hurricane. they wouldn't let us in to port we would have ripped the jetty all to hell. had to ride the storm out for 4 days. on another note yesterday morning my yard was clear of leaves. not in the afternoon with 4 maples across the street.
