hope that was tongue in cheek??  This is a JOKE, guess they think we are all going to buy these plug ins, that can only go 80km b4 you need a "re-charge" how's the GRID going to hold up on this load!!!  Another thing they didn't "think" about is where are you going to recharge when & if you make it to where you are going, without being left sitting at the side of the road!!!! Still have to have "back up" engine, & this defeats the whole idea of electric power.  Better think again, or start thinking!!

I am guessing, but I would think that elimination of "dirty coal" generating stations would eliminate a lot more polution,  than a large number of cars, do...   confuse

in the early 1990's when I was in trade school-stats showed aerysol cans were creating more pollution than automobiles (at the time)

Dave, I've told you this before. You've got to open up and share your true feelings with us instead of holding back.......

At any rate, I remember reading that collector cars, while being a bit higher in emissions, contribute less than 5% of the harmful crap (whatever it's called) due to the low miles they travel each year.

I'm skewered on both counts, two big dogs and the Big Dog.

You won't believe this and I have no idea what they are going to be used for. The Toronto Police East Garage is a few blocks from my office. Sitting in the holding yard waiting to be marked and fitted out, right beside a line of brand new white Suburbans was another line of brand new white Smart Cars, I'm not kidding no

Went to the office and drove by this moring. Suburbans all gone and only two Smarts Cars on the line. I figure they will use them for Parking Enforcement.

That's nothing. Most of the Ont Govt cars are Camry Hybrids with big "GASOLINE ELECTRIC" logos on them. From the MTO to Childrens Services- Camry's with a few Prius thrown in for good measure....

 yes-I've seen that too-Malibu's in Windsor for some reason-Toyotas in the rest of the province
