Little update on our summer and fall project which has turned into one of the more unique houses we have built. For those not familiar with Okanagan Lake which is the body of water these people will see it's pretty good size being 135 km. long and between 4 and 5 km. wide with its deepest point being 700 ft. so once it gets warmed up it takes quite a while to cool off.
The 2 decks are around 1200 sq. ft. each so they will have lots of space to enjoy their view. It's the second house I have built for them and they are probably one of the nicest couples I've worked with. On Thursday it's alway order time for them for Chinese food or pizza or hamburgers for Friday lunch for us. Just real classy people.
Haha, you must be joking!!! I get wobbly in the knees standing on a truck tailgate!!!!
A few years ago when I drove the kids through a pass in the Rockies (US side) they wanted to go back again the next day. I said no way, I felt horrible after that first day. Can't explain it...

We need someone like you who's not afraid of heights to put on the facia over the deck. Want to come to B.C. for a few days.
Name the dates I'll be there. I love heights. Been on 108 foot boom lifts, 15 storey swing stage and 60 feet on scaffolding. Do I get the job?
Boy that sounds good. There's not many guys like you. I'm okay up there but I am lucky one young guy on my crew just loves the heights too. My biggest problem is trying to keep him roped off when he's up there. Over the five years he's worked for me he's also cost me the most in WCB, nothing serious though. Will keep you in mind, it'd probably be fun for both of us.
Probably pretty reasonable. The owner has joked about renting out the lower level because he thinks he'll be over budget. I'll tell him I have someone interested for a month a year or so.
The one I helped build in Summerland has 3 B&B suites in the bottom level. Definitely helps with the mortgage. The last job I was on, we had to be harnessed every time we were more than 10 feet off the ground. That turned out to be every day as we had the lifts for 6 months. Now I'm at ground level.
