So what's the deal with the 67 4spd non SD rag. That guy can't seem to give it away. Does anybody know if the work was done one the east coast before it came here? I was in this town on Tuesday and could have looked at it. I'm not sure I understand how these newer Beaumonts are optioned. Can you get a non SD 4spd because in my years it didn't happen.

Yes, at least for 66 and up there is a 4 speed available in any body style, I'm pretty sure.

You mean 65 and 64 had no 4 speed in a non SD car? That is hard to believe. Don't take my disbelief as criticism of your statement. It just seems strange they would make you go top line to get a 4 speed.

When I was 15 pumping gas, I had a customer with a 66 plain Jane Beaumont ragtop with a 4 speed. That was one of those no-chrome models. I think it would be a 731 or 732 on the cowl tag?

My dad's car is a factory 67 custom 4 speed with buckets and console. It would have had to be an SD car to get the buckets if built earlier in the model year.....I still need to post pics of his.

Yeah that car was painted while in ON... better pictures might show how well the bodywork was done... i think thats just the price for these cars, compare to the white sd convert for $6k more, it has 4 wheel disc brakes, a bbc, and is an SD car!

if these cars were chevelles with that rarity, they'd be $70k and up...

pretty cool to see some 4sp cars pop up, that does add to the value!

Never heard or seen a 64-65 Beaumont non-SD with a 4spd but would love to be proven wrong. It would be a rare beast. As for the other years I have heard of it but have never seen the docs to prove it.

When you compare the money it makes sense unless the 327 car is a numbers match. As for the rare factor everything I own is under 700 in production and not worth the American bucks. I like it that way or the common guy couldn't own one.

My friend in Nebraska bought a 67 Custom here and took it back to restore a few years ago. When the GM Vintage came back, 327 bench seat 4 speed!

Needless to say, we were both surprised. Best part is, the dealership that sold it new is about 1/2 hour from here. When I called the parts manager there, (just prior to his retirement after about 40 years there) he remembered the car from new!

Have not heard of a 64 or 65 4 speed but maybe someone will chime in with a documented example. That would sure be cool.
