We attended this inaugural event the past weekend along with 13 other National Nostalgic Nova Club members at the Stephens Convention Center outside Chicago, IL.
We had a great time and a fellow member won one of the most prestigious awards at the show.  Jack Duer from Ohio won a platinum award in the Chevrolet class.  His 67 Nova L-79 car is very rare and unique.  The Nova SS is turquoise with a black interior and vinyl top.

I know many of you have seen this car before but just in case, I will post pictures of I think, the only Canadian Pontiac in attendance.  The 1967 Beaumont Conroy Cheetah from Victoria, BC.

Sorry, I was on the road for 18 days including the trip to Chicago and could not edit any pictures.  I don't think I can enhance that shot of the sign but I will try if I get a chance.
I believe the owner of that car is now a member here.  I noticed a couple posts from him lately.
We received an email today, the Fox Sports Network here in U.S. is showing a half hour show on Sunday Dec. 6, 2009 at 11:30am eastern, covering this Inaugural event.

This is what I've been able to get from enhancing the photo and turning it to a negative in order to better read the detail.

"Custom built to Cheetah Specifications, Conroy Cheetah"
"Owner,  George Pappas ????

"This 427 Cheetah is equipped with the 427/400hp Engine, Aluminum cylinder heads, Hooker Headers, Safety Bellhousing, M-20 4 spd close ratio, 4:?  12 bolt Posi
"Factory options include ( at this point the print is no longer legible until the bottom of the sign) " Please refer to GM Canada sheet."
That and the fact they announced at the awards ceremony the owner had come all the way from Victoria, BC to show the car in Chicago.

my 66 is regal red with a black soft trim roof cover , and black int, my 68 is burnished saddle metallic with a black soft trim roof cover and black int.

Apparently this owner also has another Cheetah.... i was chatting briefly about these cars at a restoration shop in Langley last week... perhaps we'll find out more about this car, and the owner, it seems like he is getting it out to shows... i wonder if he has any documentation from conroy on the 427 swap? neat car, would be nice to know about its history...

i have only seen one cheetah with out a soft trim roof cover and the car was white with a red int,, it was a 66 427 4sd with no beaumont letters on the back panel and never drilled for any , the car had hurst wheels and 427 cross flags , when the car recieved the 427 cross flags the cheetah emblem was put behind the front wheel at the dealer.
