B body Canadian Ponchos with a 283 4 speed???

I was just reading the 63 Canadian Pontiac sales brochure. I notice it says that 4 speed syncromesh is only available with 327 or 409. That got me thinking. I don't know if I've ever seen a factory 4 speed Canadian Poncho B body. Is there no such thing in any year?

It would seem to me that the  283 was your bread and butter first choice option V8 engine in the B body. Seems logical to me that no 4 speed would be available.

I would never have thought of it if I hadn't seen the brochure. Now that I think back, never heard of one. Years ago I went and looked at a 65 Custom Sport small block four speed. Thinking back, 327. Also tried out a 66 Grande Parisienne small block four speed. Yup, 327 as well. A friend told me about a 64 Custom Sport convert small block 4 speed and we went and looked. 327 again.

Never too old to learn......

A 283 with a four speed B body. I have never seen one. But sure would be a lot of fun with 4.10's in the back.  Rev. like Hell.

I can't figure why they wouldn't offer it. Not because of power. They made a gazillion 283 'glide cars.

There was a 66 Custom Sport in my area that came from the factory with a 283 4 speed & 12 bolt.
