Todd was going to watch fireworks remember? What else can you do on your wedding night that would be more fun.

when I was married in 1967, I had been in the Military since summer and didn't have much access to TV    On my honeymoon, I watched a whole hockey game...

Ok guys, let me chime in here! The wedding was FANTASTIC. The location was unforgettable. We had the ceremony at "The Grand Old House" which is a restored early Cayman home that has been converted into a fine restaurant/event facility. The owners (from Germany) were extremely gracious and accomidating to our needs. Website:

www.grandoldhouse.com

If any of you fellows are contemplating a wedding in the near future, I STRONGLY recommend you consider what we did instead of a standard ceremony. They had an area next to the ocean set aside for us. We had video and a photographer. The reverend was excellent (something cool about having a Caribbean minister perform your ceremony) It was a very emotional experience for both Connie and myself. In the six years of being together we have had our share of trials and tribulations. Saying your vows with the ocean in the background and the cool tropical breeze was truly amazing. After a number of photos, we settled down for dinner under a beautiful gazebo. The meal was outstanding. Since we are in the Caribbean, we wanted to try something you can't normally get in Canada. Connie and I both ordered the "Turtle Steak Cayman Style" which is "Scalloppini of Green Turtle, Avocado fried rice, spicy tomato-pepper sauce"
Yes, I had turtle and it was fantastic- it tastes a lot like veal- very tender.
After our meal the owners of the Grand Old House presented us with a numbered print of the facility. A nice touch!
So, getting back to why I was on here last night- we came home and changed into something more comfortable before heading to the beach. It took a while for Connie to get changed so I thought I'd kill a few minutes on here. Our fireworks display on the beach was also fantastic. There was no one else on the beach. After the fireworks we sat on the end of a dock, listening to the waves hit the distant reefs and gazed at the star filled sky. What a way to end a fantastic day!
I'll post a couple of photos on the other thread.
Today we are going snorkeling. I bought an underwater camera to capture some of the local sea life.
