58 Pontiac story

The thread started by dual quad pete reminded me that when I registered I said I had a few stories about Pontiacs. In the 58 model brochure posted there is a two tone blue Pathfinder sedan pictured. In February,1989 I was working as a firefighter and at 04:00 one morning I had to go on watch in the alarm room. I had read the only car mag I had with me and went searching for something to read and found a TV guide in the wastebasket. Scanning through it I saw an ad for tickets for $5.00 for a 1958 Pontiac sedan in support of a high school in Gander, NL. Next day I sent a cheque for a ticket and about a week later was informed that I was the winner. A friend and I drove to Gander (3 hrs.) a few days later and picked up the car. When I left Gander it started snowing with my buddy following in my wife's Sunbird. We ended up driving through one of the worst snowstorms of the winter and the 58 just cruised along as if it was summer. I sold it to another friend of mine a short time later. Another one I should have kept. Brendan.

Cool. What color was that car? 4 door? I think it may still be around.

It's in the Blaketown area. It's two tone blue, same as the one in the brochure posted earlier for 58 Pontiac. It had a 261, powerglide.

Are you aware that story was written 12 years ago?

20190726_233031.jpg261sixcly, you sure are digging up some old threads. I suppose you put in a search for 58 and you resurrected about three old ones.
