I had to go out..biggrin    My thoughts are to the GM historical..   If you send in a vin  they (He) finds your car immediately,  and knows the dealer..
My home town dealer sold the 396 4 speed 66 post, and the 1 of 66 Beaumont conv...  Why is there not a program, that scans ALL the dealers, and prints out ALL the good cars they sold?
I said before, I watch too much C.S.I. but some where, some how, there has to be technology that can do this....   Has to be...  got to be...

Because all of this info is on paper, or at best, microfiches.  Someone would first have to scan all this information in so it is in a reader friendly format, then someone would have to write a program to look for certain option codes that would ID the cars you are interested in.   A) need access to the info, which is not forthcoming, and B) even if you did have access, how long would it take to scan everything in?  Wait a minute, your retired aren't your Carl?  And you're a nice guy, aren't you?  Maybe you could sweet talk them into giving you access so a kindly guy with lots of time on his hands would have something to do in retirement?wink

George is not willing to part with any more info than what they provide when you pay for documentationl. I know it hurts but we need to be happy we can get as much info as we do.

I feel the same. It would be great to have it all out there for us to see but they are worried about scamming if it's all open.

I know they already don't like some of the stuff that is posted on line here.

I find that strange, since they "sell" the info..   They get the $55.00 or whatever ... What "we" do with "our" info is our business,  or are there new laws? wink
and by the looks of the "old car market", people are "not paying" big dollars, no matter how much paper work is attached   biggrin
