66/67 Beaumont

When looking for aftermarket Repro pieces for my Beaumont, I get the feeling that there are more items made for the '67 Chevelle than the '66 Chevelle.  Assuming this is correct, I'm not sure if this is a result of possibly higher production numbers of the 67 vs the 66, or if the 67 is a more desireable model.  Therefore I thought I'd ask the question of the forum for preference between the two.  (This is certainly not to imply that they are nicer than earlier or later Acadian/Beaumont's, or any other model.smile)  Just curious...
thx

I have always loved the 67's better than the 66. Guess it's mostly because of the grille and the BB hood on the majority of the SD cars. Don't get me wrong though, I have a passion for all Beaumonts and Acadians because they are part of our Canadian automotive history.

I'll have to swim upstream on this one, I have always liked the 66 Beaumont/Chevelle better than the 67, I wouldn't refuse either one though,  but 69 Beaumont is still my favorite.

Agreeed, '69 is a very nice year for the Beaumonts.
Thx for the feedback.

Silly as it sounds, one small thing that I think the 66 SD's have over the other SD's is that great lettering style (font) on the Sport Deluxe tag. I think it's very representative of the era. Kind of like the "Judge" lettering on the GTO.

I'm the wishy washy one who voted down the middle!

I like 67's until I see a 66. Then I like 66's till I see a 67.....

As stated, both have some neat unique features.

Part of my problem is I grew up with a 66 Malibu wagon that my mom and dad got brand new.

In a Beaumont,I like the 67 better, but still like the 66's too. I prefer the 66 Chevelle though to the 67. I like the supersport emblem better and the grille and taillites for some reason. Each to his own as that what makes this sport fun. Now I'm likin those 65's, and 68's for some reason ...hmm....., is there a doctor that can fix this problem ????

66. Like my pic of my 66 in the 80's that I got from Grandfather. He bought it new the year I was born. Didn't know any better and got rid of it in about 87, wanted to put a 283 in it (had the straight six) but mechanic said the frame might not take it.
Don't know if it's met the crusher or not, cop friend ran the reg but no luck.

Guess its gone nowno
