Nothing really good, lots of decorations this year though.

I was at CTC the other night buying a gift card for a friend-8:50 pm, the lady in front of me was purchasing something-I overheard something like $450 in coupons-they counted and counted ! imagine-you know how the tellers start to close up at that time and line ups form too. No concern to me but there were sure some impatients behind me.

We save ours and spend them once a year. We usually have $40-50 worth.

I was working with a guy from Burlington a couple weeks ago-he complained about $3.00 a lb turkeys ($60 for 20 pounder)-Zehrs in Welland had $1.19 a lb then 99 cents so I brought him a flyer and gave him a $3.00 coupon ($17 for 20 pounder) told him to pick one up on the way home-I could safely say he was put off about using a coupon and likely wasn't stopping for the sale ! He's an engineer and likely grosses well over $100k a year but if you don't spend wisely it ain't going to make much difference.

Never embarrassed me any to use a coupon. 'Course the Scottish blood may be part of the reason.....

You have to buy a lot of stuff to get much in the store. Must be at the gas pump.  I have used Canadian tire money to buy my floor jack and shop vac. Does not take long at the gas pump. But now that I am retired I do not use as much gas.

Hmmm thats quite the stack. Now you have me wondering as a question to all on here. What is the most that you have collected in CTC money. I used to have a 8"X14" that all the money would go into. Would usually check about 6 months and go on a bit of a shopping spree. The most I had to turn in was 228.50 I ended up getting a bunch of supplies for the shop. I usually went to customer service and let them count it first then seal the envelope with the total on the front as not to hold up the line ups

I heard on the news just before Christmas that CTC was going to get rid of the paper money & go to "coins" GREAT, just what we need, more coins, with the LOONY & TOONY, I have to tighten up the belt to keep my pants from falling down now, with all the extra weight, I guess suspenders [the RED GREEN type] are next or a "wheelbarrow"  WHAT A DUMB IDEA from CTC!!!!

Reminds me of a story my grandfather told me. when he built his cottage (during the early 60's) he bought everything at CTC because it was on the way to the cottage. when he finished building it he took all his CTC money and bought a 16 ft aluminum boat and motor from the same store.

You guys do realize don't you that they give you far less Cdn Tire money when you pay cash versus using their credit card?  When you pay cash, you get only 1/3 the amount that you would get using their card.  I got my Canadian Tire Mastercard years ago (it's free) and haven't used paper Canadian Tire money since who knows when, it's now a total rip-off in comparison.  Also, on special promotion events like Boxing Day today and tomorrow, they are giving 5X the usual rate on the card, so 15X the amount you would get if you paid cash - that's a total non-brainer.

Wake up guys, use up what paper Cdn Tire money you have left and then forget about paying cash in the future, get one of their Mastercards.  The other benefit is that you can use the card to make purchases anywhere and still accumulate points on your "money on the card balance" that you can redeem at Canadian Tire.

Nice thought Hillar and good points (no pun intended) but I'm a cash in the front pocket guy-I spend it-the only way to use a card is to purchase on it then make the payment-generally ties me up too long at the cash register so the cards go unused-kinda sad-probably could have bought a used car with the points by now !
