Hi Folks. By way of introduction, I've been the proud owner of a 69 pontiac parisenne 2 door coupe since 1984. The car was originally purchased by my grandma in Collingwood Ontario and then later went to my Dad so I am the third owner. I have ALL the documentation to go with this car and its still in pretty good original condition. I'd say its about 70% original paint, original interior, etc. The only real issues are from the car just sitting around too much - right now the gas tank is full of junk so I need to get that cleaned out. The car has abit less than 70,000 original miles.
I've done a couple of really detailed restorations on 68 Camaros (I'm one of those number correct guys) but am really looking forward to someday doing this car. The Camaros were pretty rough when I got them and its been difficult determining what was original on these cars, however the pontiac has been well cared for and should really restore nicely.
I'm not sure when I'll get around to starting the restoration, but I'm in the process of gathering up a few pieces and there are just a few things that I'd like to confirm if anyone can help. The car has the original Chevrolet 350 (2 barrel, 250hp) and Powerglide. The ram's horn exhaust manifolds are there but rusty enough that the casting numbers are almost gone. I'd like to get a nicer pair for the restored car if I can. These aren't that hard to find, but can anyone confirm what numbers I need? So far it seems that its casting # 3932473 for the left side and #3932465 for the right, but if anyone could confirm that I'd really appreciate it. The water pump has also been changed out at sometime in the past so if anyone can confirm what casting number I need there that would be great (right now I'm thinking its #3953692). Finally, as I mentioned above my gas tank is full of junk. I've had it flushed before, but before I get the carb rebuilt, etc I'm wondering if I'm better off just replacing it? Does anyone know a source for these or what other model tank would work? The rubber fill neck seems to be pretty unusual but a metal neck should work if that is the only difference between a parisienne and some other tank.

Welcome aboard from a fellow 69 Pontiac owner. I see you aren't too far down the road from me (I'm in Ingersoll) If you can save your tank you will be better off. Replacements are pricey. I sent mine to Dougs Rad in Woodstock. He's a straight shooter although you can't be in a hurry with him. He hot tanked my gas tank, checked for leaks (none) and epoxy lined it. Most mechanical and chassis parts are the same as 69 Impala. I might have a decent 350 to sell you if I ever get around to putting the 454 in mine.

Cannot be certain if casting numbers will aways match the MPC numbers, but in most cases thay should. Your numbers seem correct.

As far as the tank goes, you either go to the work of having it all checked out, cleaned, coated, etc. Or you just spend the $650 and replace it and the sender at the same time. Spectra Premium Canada makes a beautifull galvanized replacement for the 69.
Mine were all bashed in, so it's a replace anyway.

Welcome aboard. Are you date sensitive on the manifolds or just want the right casting number? I used to have some B body manifolds around, I can check. I think they are likely 67 or 68 though, so wrong dates for sure.
You've picked a great car to restore by the sound of it.
And as mentioned, the more pictures the better. No worries about posting project pics. We likely see more project shots than completed car shots.

Todd, Mark and everyone else - thanks alot for the warm welcome and all the info provided above. I will post some pics when I get them but it will likely be in the spring. I live in London but the car is actually in Chatham at my Mom's place (my garage here is full of Camaros).
Mark, the info on the manifolds and the water pump is great. Your car looks like it has been alot of work but its a great looking restoration so far. Better than new I'm sure. To use Carl's phrase, I am 'date sensitive' although I confess I didn't think to note the engine assembly date or car build date the last time I was in Chatham. I'll have to do that before I start looking for some nice clean castings. Thanks anyway for the offer Carl.
A new gas tank sure is pricey at $650. If you (Todd) were happy with Doug's Rad, I might give him a try for the same treatment in the spring. What did he charge you?
Hi norontcan. The dealer sticker is still on the deck lid but its so faded that its not really legible. The car did come from Lockhart's though. I have the original invoice and also remember going there as a young guy with my Dad when he was having the car serviced for my Grandma during family visits. I was in Collingwood a couple of years ago and there is a Toyota dealer where I remember Lockhart's being located - I seem to remember the GM dealer was closer to the centre of town and had a different name now. Too bad, I was going to stop in and see if they might have any of the old dealer stickers.

Haven't been here all that long but I do believe you're right about the old location. GM dealer is now called Mike Jackson and its a little ways down Hume St. However, right next to the Toyota dealer is a used car dealer by the name of Lockhart Motors which I believe is the same family as the old GM dealer. Who knows if you speak up you might just get lucky.
I'm taking it that the dealer emblem is a sticker as opposed to a diecast emblem? Next time you have a camera near the car could you snap a pic of the name and post it, please? Thanks, Ted

I didn't see the used car dealer - guess I was too focussed on the new Toyota dealer. I'll stop in next time I'm up that way. The dealer emblem is a sticker. Its not torn so the outline is there, but its only legible from a certain angle. I'll try to get you a pic or two, but it will likely be in the spring.
Hello All! I've been away for awhile, but am now finally able to get to a few things automotive. Norontcan, you asked for a picture of the dealer sticker. I've tried to attach some photos of that and the overall car. The sticker is actually reflective so it shows up pretty well in the photos. Its really faded badly when viewed with the naked eye however.
