I just talked to Don the other night, didn't know he had such a rare Canadian car. The car is in some very good hands with Don.

That is a very nice car. My cousin had a 74 Malibu with the 454, it was an automatic, he got it from the owner of the local Midas shop in 76. My best memory of the power in that car was cruising up 115 to Lindsay and a Road Runner goes out to pass, well suffice to say he didn't.
John, if you need some NOS stuff for your 68 or 69 Caprices, get a hold of Don.

The Edmonton police had those as cars at one point (minus the 4 sp 454.) There were lots of them around back in the day...

in 1994 prior to me purchasing my Deepwater Blue 67 SD396 Beaumont there was a light green 73 Malibu 454 4-speed from Texas-it had the M22 trans-seems a lot of early 70's cars got the M22-anyway-shoulda bought it-$3800 and it was a good one
I had a 74 SS 454 El Camino back in '78-79. It was a rubber burner even with 10 inch Mickey Thompson mags and M/T L60's A fun car that would do donuts all night!

Thanks Andrew. I have talked to Donny a few times plus I follow him on a couple of other websites. Seems very knowledgeable about the 67-69 427 cars in particular. He's lucky to have found this Chevelle. There's one like it where I live but not a 4 speed and not as rare I'm sure.
I BOUGHT A #'S MATCH '69 SS427 PROJECT A FEW YEARS BACK. THE SELLER TRIED TO SELL IT TO ME IN A PACKAGE DEAL WITH A #'S MATCH '73 454 4SPD CHEVELLE. BOTH CARS FOR $5000. THE WIFE SAID NO WAY. DIVORCED THE WIFE...HAD TO SELL THE PROJECT....
There was a Chevelle like that at the Atlantic Nationals the last couple of years, but it's grey or black.
There was also one of these southe of Edmonton, maybe around Camrose that I looked at about 6 or 7 years ago. It was in pretty good shape, and had all the right parts as I recall, but it was in pieces. I had gone to look at a 68 SS 427 Impala. The quarters were really bad, as well as the frame, floor etc. The guy also had a 454 El Camino, 4 speed I think.
Ha Mike, I guess we looked at the same cars- so it was a 69 SS427- I guess my memory is starting to fail me a little!
YEP, JUST OUT SIDE OF A LITTLE TOWN CALLED BALWF. BOUGHT THE IMPALA FOR $2600. I SAW THE SELLER AT THE THREE HILLS CRUISE A COUPLE YEARS LATER. HE SAID HE SOLD THE CHEVELLE TO A FELLOW WHO ENDED UP PARTING IT OUT.

Yeah, that's the town name. I think the seller was asking 5G for the SS427 when I went to look at it. I would have paid 2600 for it! I can't believe that Chevelle got parted out!! I did a bunch of research on the prod #'s, eng and trans codes, but decided against buying because I had two cars already...
I would love to find a Laguna S-3 wagon with a 454 4spd combo. Am I dreaming? Does such a car even exist?
I don't believe the S-3 Laguna pkg ever was aveilable on a wagon. Although the Laguna front ends were quite popular and found their way onto many non-S-3 cars over the years. As I recall the S-3 Laguna or maybe just the Laguna was available with a 350 or 454 motor. I remember seeing quite a few of the white cars with red stripe pkg and the Laguna front end. I had a neighbor with a 73 Chevelle, they called the color silver metallic but I always though it was a cross between light brown metallic and silver. His car had a black vinyl top with I believe a 350 automatic. He loved that car so much, he wore through the paint from waxing the car. As a product of the 60's, I, thought that car was a piece of junk due to the low hp motor. I never had any respect for any of the Chevy's built 71 or later because of the lower compression, lower hp and I hated the energy absorbing bumpers with all the added weight.
The one that's here now is maroon in color and I think it came from Alberta. I don't know the owner. There was also another 454 4 speed 73 SS here about 15 years ago but it may have been parted out.
