In retrospect, your favorite auto purchases of 2009?...

Looking back, just thought you might want to share some of your favorite purchases of 2009, regardless of how much they cost.
For me, purchases included a nice set of Beaumont dog dish caps, a couple of reverse lights in "good" condition, a hood spear (thx Marty), a good '66 steering wheel, all topped by the purchase of an ellusive "pristine" 66 Beaumont horn button.

Happy New Year to you all, and thank for all of your assistance in 2009!!!  We'll see you on the other side!...

I would have to say my best purchase of the year was a NOS 66 Acadian dog dish of Carl2 for $20 with shipping. And second would be NOS rear bumper caps for my 57. But they cost 55 times the price of the hub cap with out shipping.

not as cool as the 6 x 30 Atlas lathe I bought from a 72 year old rodder "who was sick of making bushing for his neighbours" , though !!

Didn't get to buy anything in 2009; almost nabbed a 427 Impala convt but it wasn't the right car for me.

Oh well, maybe in 2010 I'll find what I'm looking for.

Got any pics of that 454 70  Safari you are restoring? Love those cars and would be interested in how it's progressing.

From a parts perspective, I guess it would have to be this near mint bumper that I picked up for $30.  And it helps if you have multiple cars that it will fit.  But from an overall perspective it would have to be the 2+2 I got from seventy2plus2, besides, Clint was starting to monopolize the supply of 70s, I had to even things out a little bit!

From a parts perspective, I would say the CPP mini subframe kit for the 65. I look forward to a car that will drive nicer and maybe not wear tires out so quickly. I just need time off work so I can do the the install....and for about 2 feet of snow to go away.

Probably my swap meet special, valve spring compressor I used to put my heads together last night. I had always wanted one. Every time I put an engine together I have to borrow one. Without fail, every last one I have borrowed has been an old worn out piece of junk that slips off when I try to compress the retainer.

I went to a small town swap meet in the fall, maybe 25-30 vendors max and bought what looks to be pretty much a brand new compressor for 5 bucks. It works perfect. What a treat assembling heads when you aren't scared of losing fingers because of a junky old compressor.
