I think the owner is from New Hampshire or somewhere near there. I emailed him when it was on Ebay but must have deleted the responses. He also had a 66 or 67 Beaumont.

Oh good. He kept one of the nicer years!biggrin  LOL

PS  Thanks for posting.  It'll be interesting to see the bidding.  The 396 will certainly get more attention than the 66 in Vegas that was a 283.

This look like the car that was for sale at Barrie flea market a few years back.  If it's the same one, a member on this site owned it for a time.

yes-I used to own it

it was on the Barrie flea market field prior to me came there via Verdun, Quebec

GLS Larry Shackleton bought it

sold it to Woodbridge-was at Chevy fest for sale again

then to Milton/Acton-got painted

then to me (I had it about a year)-sold it when I bought my 65 corvette

sold it to Ancaster

traded in at Legendary

then off to the states I guess

I e-mailed him via E-Bay-same V.I.N. nice guy has a 66 convertible custom also

this car had a lot of original paperwork-52,000 on the odometer (not working) (CE block) good car-I seen it with its original paint

can't guess pricing-that'll get me in trouble

I was just thinking of "Craig" at BJ    Does he know, someone might sue him, over his advertising it, as a Pontiac?    wouldn't want him to lose out...  wink

Carl, it does say Pontiac on the floor mats ... that's where Craig got his information from. : )

Barry-you would have bought the car in the fall of 1999 and sold it to me in the fall of 2000. The car was at the Barrie flea market in the spring of 1999-A guy from a Quebec bodyshop brought it down for the original owner in Verdun. Larry Shackleton bought it at the Barrie sale while I pondered the CE block-Larry sold it the next day to the guy from Woodbridge that you bought it from-he cleaned it up a little (tires, W/moldings, carpet, parcel shelf etc...)

Barrett-Jackson

I was watching B-J reruns, and a car (chev) came over the block, and the seller had
listed the car as "matching numbers"  (which is good!) with the exception of

UPGRADED Engine and rear end!!! rofl.gif

I was delighted, to find a better way to describe my car lol

Since my car is not a recreation or clone or tribute car or restored car

So, from now on, its is a "matching number" car with 'upgraded engine and trans....wow

RE: 68 SD at Barrett-Jackson

Wow, lets hope they meant that it had the engine and diff that the car started life with but they were upgraded with better parts...which is quite possible what they meant!!

my car is "numbers matching" ...my VIN on the body matches the frame!!! the engine however is a different story!hahaha!!

This car was at legendary when i was there 2 summers ago... i'm still thinking upper 20's will be it for this car... and not to speculate but if it goes way higher than that, than i wouldn't be surprised (in my own opinion and in no way reflecting on LMC) if there's a bidder there to drive it up and that the buyers premium lost will be a write off for the seller in terms of advertising rather than let it sell to cheap...

The matching number car had a different motor, like 396 instead of 283,  and different rear end,  like 10 bolt to 12  lol

I don't know if you guys read the article in the last Smoke Signals magazine where they interviewed a guy who worked at the Pontiac plant in the 1960's. He said he laughs when he hears about "Matching Numbers" as there were many occasions when the "matching numbers" engine never did make it to the "correct" car...

Hi Guys
I am the guy selling the 68 SD Beaumont at Barrett Jackson in AZ
I just got back to my hotel
I hope I do well I am selling 5 cars from my personal collection
I sold my 67 gt 350 recreation tonight for 56k less 8% and tommorow my 67 beamont that I bought a couple of years ago it is lot # 638 , the 68 SD I did buy at Ledgendary motors about almost 7 or 8 years ago will go on the block tommorow afternoon

I am selling this car only because I have to not because I want to , it is my absolute favorite antique car that I own out of 8 that I have ,I love this car and would not sell it unless I really have to,sometimes as I am sure you all know life can throw us a curveball

please wish me luck

Thanks
 Pauleau

I do still own a 66 ragtop Beaumont with a 4 speed that is almost out of restoration but beacause it is not ready I may be able to keep it
I truly hpoe it goes to a good home where the car will get the respect that it deserves
