I am a Bonneville fan,  and the  409 is "cool"  but a long way from basket case?

Maybe a bit harsh on the 409, but you didn't see or smell the interior. I couldn't open the door on the trailer wide enough to take a photo.

"basket case" is just that a pile of parts disassembled in my description

agreed the Bonneville is way better bang for the buck

back to should one buy a rare car that needs everything or a little off the beaten path and just turn the key-lotta good buys out there in any market if your not following the rest of the fish in the stream.

Nice car, I can see from the pics it also needs a headliner, but that is not a big thing. Thanks for thinking of me Carl.

The car is in Georgia, correct? Is the owner willing to bring it back to Ontario?

The owner of the car is a good friend and I am sure he will bring it to Ontario.

I recognize the name and phone number. Jim is constantly bringing up cars from the south. I have bought two vehicles from him a 1990 chev short box pickup and a 1955 Pontiac Laurentian 4 dr. with a 305 turbo 350 with all sorts of advertizing decals on it. My wife nicknamed that one the "clown car".I bought that to keep as a parts car. When I bought the truck he was good with me as he picked me up at the London airport and drove me around so I could change the ownership, plate it etc. Very reasonable with the sales tax.I  kept the truck for a couple of years and had no intentions of selling it until someone knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to sell it. I said $10,000 thinking he would just walk away but he said he wanted it as long as it was certified. It needed only an pitman arm for the mechanical. It was a big dollar for a 1990 but the buyer told me he was looking at short box pickups and this was by far the niciest one he had found. He still owns the truck and is completely satisified with it as it was a rust free Georgia truck. Jim knows his vehicles and has probably owned more different ones in all kinds of condition from shells to complete vehicles than most of us.  That 62 has beautiful lines and if I was in the market for another car I would go to Otterville and check this one out thoroughly as at that price you could not come close to building one.

Al

Well Carl I can't wait to see it. It's close by me here in good old Ingersoll. Only 20 mins. to Otterville. Does he need a nice old California Porsche 928 & a 90 GTA????

It sounds like the seller has the means to move this car but I thought I'd post this just in case.

I will be here in Florida until April 1st, if I sell my convertible before then, I can transport this car or another for sale in Florida, Georgia or Alabama back to Michigan.
My car hauler only carries one vehicle when pulling my travel trailer.  Once in Michigan, I can move the vehicle to Sarnia or Sault St Marie.
