It looks very "fresh" to be from the early fifties ... no patina.
Is it made out of solid metal or is it stamped out of brushed tin?

I was told that this hung on the showroom wall of a Pontiac dealership in 1951. It is 25" in diameter, very detailed, and in very good condition. Very nice piece of automotive history. 519-692-9934.
NICE!    looks original to me

Hey Jimmy,

That saying (Dollar for dollar ...) is from the fifties.
I did a little google search and found nothing on the medallion. If it is the real deal, it is rare!
You'll know if it's real if you see it in person, and hold it in your hands.
Old manufacturing methods just have a "feel" to them.

It is made from Air formed plastic.   If anyone wants it go for it I was hopeing it was a metal sign.

Thanks for the update.
Ya, if it was made from metal, and being old, it would be worth it.

I've never seen one of these but Dollar for Dollar was a 1952 model year Pontiac slogan..
Doubtful it's genuine considering the thin plastic thing?.

The style is similar to the 1940's 'Pontiac Chief of the Sixes' promotional coins..
I have one somewhere here but haven't seen it for years..
Here's one from online..
