wow i remember those! i actually remember one in courtenay,bc around 77-78 when i was a kid.It was always downtown on 5th street.I dont know how many there were,but you had to win them!

It was at the R-M Collector Car Auction last fall. Guess it didn't sell there. I remember that contest well. A friend of mine owned a body shop and was big into customizing vans. That was the one van that all those guys were really into. Does any one else remember the Van-Ins from the mid 70's? " If this van's a rockin' don't bother knockin" or "Don't laugh, your daughter might be in here" were 2 of the more popular bumper stickers that were around.

I had a 1972 Corvette for sale in the mid 1980's I recall a guy coming down to look at it wanting to trade a 1969 chevy van long bed orange with tear drop windows and big mags-then he opens the back doors showing me the mirrors on the headliner, bar, panelled interior and water bed ! sounded great at first-then I'm thinking at age 17 I likely shouldn't be picking up someone's daughter with it !
