You bet Carl, same applied to the Malibu. I have posted pics in the past of one that I helped my freind restore.  It was a Malibu SS built before December.  Was a 396 350HP with a glide.  


The only thing in question was the big block hood that was on the car when he got it. I think was not original to the car.

M35 is a powerglide
M20 is a 4 speed
M40 is a Turbo 400 trans
L34 is a 350HP 396
L35 is a 325HP 396

The code stamped on the block in front of the passenger side cyl head can be decoded to tell you. The other way would be GM documentation.

You can see the holes for the custom mouldings if you look in the trunk of a 67 custom unless they have replaced the rear quarters or intentionally "repaired" them.
