In my house the cold shoulder has never lasted for more than a year for any specific incident. Occasionally I have managed to go more than a year without new incident being added. It's still easier to get forgiveness rather than permission.

Yah, up north is a relative kind of thing. I used to say I lived in Northern Ontario which to Toronto folk is way, way up north. Funny thing though. I was 20 miles south of the 49th parallel which of course is the Canada/US border across the praries. norontcan = northern ontario canada
