Complete Noob: What to look for on 68 2+2

What is it that makes a 2+2 a 2+2...My dad had one when he was my age, so I'm trying to find him a blue 1968 Parisienne, and have no idea what to look for. Obviously I know the difference between 2 door, 4 door and convertible, but have no idea what makes a 2 plus 2. I'm assuming it means two doors, two seats in the front, two in the back, but is there any difference between this and say a regular 2 door? Any help would be great thanks.

ALSO. What other years could I buy that are similar and saw do a front end swap to make it LOOK like a 68 (I heard 67's and 69s are similar with a few little differences)

2+2's are basically a sporty Parisienne.   68 2+2's have the fender louvers behind the front wheels, and would have bucket seats and a console.  The interior trim is very similar, if not the same, as a 68 Impala SS.   2+2 actually stands for 2 people in the front, 2 people in the rear.   Strange, my 1970 2+2's have 3 sets of seat belts in the rear.

Pontiac 2+2's were available in the US from 1964 to 1967 (based on a Catalina), and in Canada from 1967 to 1970 (based on an Impala chassis).  While there is a lot of similarities between Canadian 1967 models and 1968 (interior and rear end of the car), there is also a lot of similarities between 1968 models and 1969 (mainly the nose).  These were the days when technical and styling advances were added to the car each year.

From what I know the sporty full size Can Pontiacs kind of went like this:

1964  Custom Sport (Can Pontiacs equivalent to Chevy's SS-Badges Buckets etc)1965  Custom Sport (Same)
1966 No Custom Sport separate model - it was a Parisienne option.
1967  2+2  (SS equivalent-Badges Buckets etc. separate model again
1968  2+2   (same)
1969  2+2   (same)
1970  2+2   (same)

If I'm wrong please correct me.
