Posting a picture...direct from your PC to CP

This post is intended as a simple tutorial of how to post pictures to the site. These suggestions work with a PC, but not sure how this will transfer to a Mac.

Feel free to add any other suggestions or tricks to the thread, and I'll bring them into the first post below. some suggestions as to how to manipulate pictures in your own files would be welcome.

thanks, Mark

Here's a relatively simple step by step guide to posting a single picture in a reply.
The same process also works in a new topic.

NEW Updated 4/3/2020

In your reply or post box click on the "Attach Image(s)" button,

Inkedfrom the post window click Attach images_LI.jpg

Your desktop files appear. Choose the file(s) where your picture is stored from the left column. File will often automatically open to the most recent used.
Click on the image(s) or file(s). Image or file will highlight and show in the File name: box. You can select multiple images at a time if desired.
Click on the "Open" button when you have the right file selected,

InkedDEsktop file folder list appears._LI.jpg

Your file is transferred and appears along with the size under "Attached files"
Click on [Insert] to the lower right,

Inkedfile appears_LI.jpg

CP popup "Insert?" appears. Click the OK button,

Inkedcp insert appears_LI.jpg

Image will appear in your text box,
Submit if correct,

image transfers to post.JPG

One hint is that images are best sized no larger in file size than 600 KB. Any larger and they will be too large for most display settings.

One trick; If you need more room in your text box, click on the expand button on the toolbar. It can make it far easier to compose a text and image post,

Below is how the older page system used to work,

LN7, after you upload it, look above the lines with "browse" in them. See where it says "insert"?

After you upload,if you click "insert" it will make the picture large and then we don't have to click on it to have a nice sized version.

Given my lack of computer talents, I just get Carl427 to post mine for me! I think I'd have much better luck if I ATE the paste and THEN tried to copy it! LOL!

And if you want to take it one step farther, click "insert" before you post it. You will see the word "insert" in brackets in the area under the reply box.

Hey Rosey,

That is a beautiful machine you have there, cant wait to see and hear more. Your husband bought you that!!?? I can only assume he has a nicer one? My first thought was either you have the best husband, or he did something REALLY bad. Seriously though, you came to the right place if you want to learn about it. It is a fabulous rare piece of Canadian Automotive history and art!Beaumont_1.JPG
p.s. you would likely get much better exposure and feedback in the "new members" or "members rides: sections! (and more pictures and history would be great)

My '68 Beaumont

Here is a picture of my '68 Beaumont, it has a 502, a 700 R4, automatic and a 12-bolt posi.  Also a picture of my son's '72 Pontiac Ventura with 56,000 original miles.

61340011.jpg61340012.jpg61340006.jpgMy ride in 1964 409 425hp. The car was 2 weeks old when these were taken. Loved this car.

The 1967 Beaumont was 1 month old 396 4sp. Blast to drive.
