I was installing a new package tray and had to remove the back seat, I found the tags below. I assumed that it was just seat info. Can anyone tell me if it has any info that wouldnt normally be found on my PHS docs?

It has all of the same info. that is on your PHS docs and a bit more ... for instance, does anybody know what the first three numbers (044) stand for?
Mine has a "493" and those numbers are nowhere to be found on any of my other documentation. My build sheet also has the key codes. That could be the seat type info.

The option codes should agree with the documentation from GM. You mentioned you had documentation from PHS, or do you mean GM Canada - Oshawa?

To try and answer the question about the first numbers ( 044 ) and then Pontiacanada's ( 493 ) might this be the dealer code?
About 'Zone' and Dealer Codes: These were listed on the window sticker and build sheet and denoted the area and "dealer that the car was destined to be delivered to". Finding this info on your classic will determine where your vehicle was originally sold.
If you have an original window sticker, this info should be on the sticker...probably near the upper left below or beside the dealer's address. The number is written, usually, as a five digit #...the first two are the Zone # and the remaining THREE are the dealer #. and of course it's on the BUILD sheet too.
A note about the window sticker, it sits right below the "Chevrolet Motor Division General Motors Corporation" print (at least for 1970) and was written as 27-"208".
Canadian cars may list the number as a unit: 81900 - this would be zone 81 "dealer" 900 (from GM production sheet).

Doesn't work. My dealer code is 86903 - De Luxe Automobile Ltee' -Sherbrooke Quebec My build sheet says 493 ???

Here is the one for my 69 Beaumont. First numbers are 470. 47 is in my vin number . Other than that not sure what it means.
There is nothing resembling 493 in my VIN. The mystery deepens

Ok so its not the sales region and/or dealer code. The mystery continues. What else could it be? Someone suggested the daily production number - does this sound like a possibility? ( in this thread we've seen numbers from the 100's to 500's - was Oshawa putting out 500+ cars per day? ). Was there more than 1 production line running in parallel and this refers to the line number? Are there any old production line guys on here to help with this one?
Solving the mystery sounds like a challenge. Those of us with unheated garages should have a few minutes to spend helping solve it.
