Ive being looking for a split bench seat  for my 65 2dr sedan and have found a seat that is available. this seat is not from a 65 , but from a 2 door 1970 lemans. what i'm wondering is will this seat fit . Im  thinking that it might be wider between the doors as i think the 65's were a narrower body.

I can measure mine tommorow or you can email the width of the other seat later. I have had both and I'm sure the seat will work. I think a standard for that year is 50" across the back. Let me know.

The one in my 65 wagon is a strato bench and I think they were 69 chevelle.That was a pretty wide car also ,theres a good chance they should fit but I would measure first.

what   is a strato  bench ??? do you  meen   coming  from  a strato  chief  pontiac  ??

or  your bench  is from  a mid size  car??

i m going  out to mesure  my interior  between the  2 doors

other than the seat tracks being a hair taller its a direct bolt up the same seat
I took a '70 chevelle seat & put in in my '71 nova, seat is the same width

this is what I call a strato bench,  looks like buckets with a arm rest in the middle,  can stil seat 3 , if need be.

Thats the bench I have also.They called the GM seats in the late 60s 'strato bucket' or 'strato bench' I believe.

well i have the seat on it's way to me, apparently the seat has headrests too
i'm thinking when it comes time to recover the seat just leave the headrests out and cover the mounting area get i will find out Monday

a true split bench seat would be like in a Cadillac that has separate drivers and passenger components (usually a 60/40 split).   I presume what you're looking for is a bench seat, with split backrests.  The "Strato Bench" being referred to is a specific type, which is like the Strato Buckets used in A&B body cars, with a common seat cushion.  (basically a bench seat with bucket type backrests and side trim). 

Strato Buckets of the 68-72 vintage have the release button in the middle of the backrest.  Same thing with the Strato Bench.
