1957 Pontiac Laurentian 2 dr hardop

I am selling one of my projects so that I can buy a car off of a good friend of mine - "to keep it in the family".

This is a rare canadian Pontiac - a 1957 Pontiac Laurentian. The Laurentian was the top of the line Pontiac that year (same trim level as a Chevrolet Bel Air), and this is a very rare 2 door hardtop - only a few thousand made.

Canadian pontiacs were built on chevrolet drivelines until 1970, basically making this a 1957 Chevy Bel Air with different body panels. All the chevrolet engines were availble, from the 6cyl (canadian pontiacs got a larger version of the venerable blue flame 236ci six - a 261ci version pirated from GMC trucks) all the way to the fuelie 283. This car was originally a 261ci six with a 3 on the tree.

Right now it has no engine or transmission, but is setup for a SBC and TH350 - comes with all mounts, a new radiator with a transmissions cooler, ceramic coated Hooker headers, etc. Drop in your favourite Small block and go. Rear end is there, all the brakes on the car are pretty fresh, and a spare set of shoes goes with the car.

The interior is all there but the stock front bench seat (I have one but its from my 55' - and negotiable) and is in fair condition. There are a pair of bucket seats that I was going to recover and put into the car that go with it.

The best part of this car is the body and frame. The body is nice and solid. The car has some rust in the floor so its not truely rust free. However the rest of the car is. I was going to just get front pans for the car and replace them so the car is done. The body mounts are new - when replacing them is when we found the rust in the floor. The rest of the body is very nice, and other than a few scratches and very minor dings, is excellent. This is originally a Red car with white roof and cove.

The car currently has the trim off of it because I was going to be doing a complete color change on the car from its current burgandy to black. I have every single piece of trim, and its all labeled. There is even a bunch of extra trim for the car that goes with it. There is also extra bumpers. The windshield was cracked so I threw it out but all the other glass is good and there. A new windshield is only $200 installed. This car has the rare factory tinted glass also. There is new windsheild and rear window seals for the car. This car looks like it has had one paint job over the original paint.

The car has lots of new parts - a new expoxy coated gas tank, new brakes, complete side mount kit for a modern automatic trans, Ceramic Coated hooker headers, new 4 core radiator with trans cooler, etc, then we get into the extra trim parts for the car - there is doubles of about half of the trim. There is also two sets of spare rear springs (station wagon and a set from an old gasser), a spare rear end, and more that goes with the car.

The only reason I am selling this car is because a good friend is selling the 67' Camaro he bought new. To get that car, I need to make space by selling this one. This one was one of my "keepers" but the camaro is something special.

The car is currently at my hobby shop in alliston - 30 minutes up the 400 from toronto.

$4500 or best reasonable offer
